The Flower Challenge #27 - Use an Older Stamp or Die - Reminder

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a restful weekend!

Today I have a floral card to share with you. It's time for a reminder post for The Flower Challenge. Our theme for December is Use an Older Stamp or Die

I used an old rubber stamp from Hero Arts, called Daisies.

I stamped the Daisies three times in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed the images. I watercolored them in a loose way and splattered opaque white ink over the whole panel.

I foam mounted the panel after I cut it using a Double Stitched Rectangle die on a gray cardbase. The sentiment was cut from Silver Glitter Adhesive Paper from The Ton using hello word die. I raised the die cut sentiment with three more die cut hello's and adhered it onto the card.

It was a quick and easy card using an old but pretty floral rubber stamp.

Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration from my lovely team mates!
It would be great if you could find time to play with an older floral stamp or die to join in the fun!

Enjoy your weekend!
Hugs,
TaeEun

Altenew December 2018 Markers/Embellishments Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew December 2018 Markers/Embellishments Release Blog Hop!

If you are coming from Lilith Eeckels' blog you are right on track. If you want to start the hop from the beginning please hop over to the Altenew Card Blog!

Altenew has released two new Artist Markers sets and Colorless Blender along with gorgeous Embellishments for paper crafting! I had the pleasure to play with the Artist Markers Set E and the new Colorless Blender.

I chose a big floral stamp with many petals to showcase the new marker set :)!  Build-A-Flower: Camellia seemed to be perfect for this purpose.

To do no-line coloring I stamped the third layer of Camellia flower in Sunkissed and the leaves in Bamboo ink on Neenah solar white cardstock. I stamped two more flowers in Limestone on a A2 sized solar white panel to create the monochrome background.

I colored all the images using three color families from Artist Markers Set E. On the orange camellia I needed Y205, C001 from Artist Markers Set B and R335 from Set A too.

I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Build-A-Flower: Camellia on the background panel and adhered it on a white cardbase.

The orange camellia flower and the leaves were cut using coordinating dies and added onto the card. The flower was foam mounted and I glued the leaves flat on the card.

I used the Colorless Blender to blend or soften and brighten the colors and it worked fantastically!

The Flower Challenge #27 - Use an Older Stamp or Die

Hello everyone!!!

We've arrived already the last month of the year 2018!!! Hard to believe, right?!!
Hope you all are having warm and cozy December!

Today I want to share my DT card for The Flower Challenge with you. Our theme for December is

Use an Older Stamp or Die.

I have to share what my 10 year old son said, as he saw the theme on my calendar....
"Mom don't be too hard on yourself!"  :) :) :)  He didn't know what a die is!

Now to my card :) !
I used one of my first stamp sets, Tiger Lily by Penny Black, for my card.

I stamped the Tiger Lily in Antique Linen DI two times after masking the first one on Ranger watercolor cardstock. To fill the bottom left area I drew a long leaf.

I watercolored the lilies and added soft blue and green color on the background.
The sentiment is also from Penny Black. The stamp is called Happy Wishes. I gold heat embossed it directly on the colored panel.

I cut the panel using a Double Stitched Rectangle die and adhered it on the cardbsae.

Hope you liked my card! Now it's your turn!  Join in the fun, if you have old floral stamps or dies to which you gave some love a while back!

Please hop over to The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration from my lovely team mates!

Have a wonderful day!

Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop Day2 !!!

Have you enjoyed the Day1 of this special blog hop hosted by Altenew?  I'm so excited to be a stop on Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop Day2 along with other amazing crafters!!!

If you're coming from Agnieszka Malyszek's blog, you are right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the hop, please hop over to Altenew Scrapbook Blog, today's host!

I'm so thankful for the opportunity to celebrate our unique community today. I started cardmaking in 2015, 2 years after my family had moved to USA. This online community has been the window to the world for me through which I learned about so many people and cultures and made my crafty friends! And Altenew was one of the stamp companies I have got to know as I started cardmaking. As I love their floral stamps, especially the large and delicate images, I chose one of my favorite stamps for today's card : Crown Bloom.

I started by stamping the outline images from Crown Bloom stamp set on some Canson watercolor paper. I stamped the flowers in Sand Dune and the leaves in Minty Mint to do no-line coloring. I watercolored the images with Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers: Spring Garden Set and cut them using coordinating dies

To add some texture on my background I added clear glitter embossing paste through Sketched Lines stencil on a shimmery cardstock. I cut the shimmery cardstock along a curved line I drew to follow the floral arrangement.

I then searched for a thin and long sentiment and found a beautiful one from Build A Flower: Anemone set. I white heat embossed it on my gray cardbase using Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder.

I then assembled the card together. The stenciled shimmery panel was foam mounted on the cardbase. The flowers and leaves were adhered partly flat or using some foam adhesives as shown in the picture. I added yellow dots on the small flowers using yellow Pico embellisher to finish off the card.
