Altenew A Year in Review Blog Hop

Hello everyone!
Today I'm participating in a special blog hop hosted by Altenew: A Year In Review Blog Hop
If you came from amazingly talented Marika Rahtu's blog, you are right on track. If not, please start over at Altenew blog to get all the information about the hop and not to miss any stop!

I'm feeling so honored to be part of this hop with so many talented crafters I admire. I was so excited as May asked me if I could join in. Who would say no to this wonderful opportunity to say crafty goodbye to 2016!!!

I've chosen 8 cards I've made using Altenew stamps throughout the year of 2016. It's a great pleasure for me to share them here with you. I'll add the link to the original post (please click the month above the picture) along with a short description about each card.
So let's get started!

This card was made using Vintage Flowers stamp set and black magic technique. It was my first attempt with this technique and I'm still loving it. I stamped the floral image in white pigment ink on a black cardstock and colored it using Prismacolor colored pencils. The sentiment is from Beautiful Day stamp set.

Blue floral image colored with colored pencils on kraft is one of my favorite ways to creat a card. I made this one using Beautiful Day stamp set for the floral arrangement and Halftone Hello for the sentiment. I love how the leaves turned out. They were colored mainly by adding shadows around them.

I love to play with alcohol inks, especially coloring heat embossed floral images by dripping the ink. This card  was the result of my very first try with this technique and I was so happy about that. If you want to try this technique I would suggest to use bold and big floral images like Magnolias for her which I used here.

Next card was made with spotlighting or highlighting technique. I chose for this card the Peony Bouquet stamp set.  My spotlight is falling on the part where I heat embossed the flowers in white on vellum. The coloring was done on the back of the vellum panel using Tombow markers.

This card had the honor to be picked at the May Inspiration Challenge by Altenew. It is an one layer card on which I tried to make a partially colored alcohol ink background using masking fluid. The flower from the Best Mom stamp set was gold heat embossed and colored opaque using yellow acrylic paint.

After the summer break when I couldn't make cards due to family trip and move, I had an idea to make a shaker card with spotlighting technique. I used again the branch with blooms from Best Mom stamp set for this card.  I gold heat embossed it on the card front and on the shaker window as well and colored it using alcohol ink on the back of acetate.

This card  is featuring a floral arrangement made using Beautiful Day Stamp set. The images were watercolored. I actually am not a watercolor person. But I was very happy with how this turned out. I followed the direction that Marika Rahtu showed once on her video.

The last card , this was made after I've got the invitation for this blog hop from May. So it is my big thanks to her and Altenew for having me in this blog hop!!! I silver heat embossed the flowers and leaves from Adore You stamp set and colored them using alcohol ink. I love the bold and vibrant colors of alcohol ink.

A year in Review Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card to share with you, which I made for December Inspiration Challenge over at Altenew blog.  It is called A Year in Review Inspiration Challenge where we may choose one of the inspiration challenges of 2016.
I chose July Inspiration challenge. Actually it was a wedding themed challenge but I took only the color scheme from the inspiration picture. I hope it's okay :).

To start off I stamped and heat embossed the flowers and leaves from Adore You stamp set by Altenew in silver on a glossy cardstock, along with masking if needed. I then applied alcohol inks. I used for the flowers Raspberry, Flamingo snd Sunshine Yellow, and for the leaves Botanical and Citrus. While waiting for the panel to dry I prepared the card base by stamping the Diagonal Stripes from SSS in Soft Garden from The Ton and blended Twisted Citron DI on it. I added silver lines to the stripes for more interest. I then cut the alcohol ink panel along the left and bottom outlines of the flower cluster and mounted it on the card base using some foam tape. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as well. I stamped it in Wild Orchid first and then partially (bottom part) in black to achieve an ombre look. To finish off I added a few sequins.

This is the inspiration picture with the color scheme from July Inspiration Challenge.

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Warm Wishes

Today I have two holiday cards to share with you. They are featuring floral images I colored using Polychromos colored pencils recently. I inked up rubber stamps from Penny Black in the colors of flowers and in green on the stem and leaves and stamped them on kraft cardstock.

The stamp on the first card is called Sparkler.

After coloring was done, I masked the image and splattered some gold ink on the card. The gold heat embossed sentiment is from JustRite. To finish off the card I added two lines underneath the sentiment using gold gel pen.

The stamp I used for the second card is Divine, one of my favorite stamps :).

After coloring and splattering of white ink, I narrowed the right side cutting along the outlines of flowers. I then matted some structured diamond bling cardstock on that side and foam mounted the kraft panel. For more bling I added a few light blue and clear sequins, and glittery shades to the white heat embossed sentiment and the right edge of the kraft panel using clear glitter pen.

The pictures look slightly pale. So please imagine they would be a little bit darker :)!

I want to link up my first card at Addicted to Stamps and More #223 (Holiday)
and the second one at The Flower Challenge #3 (Use an older Stamp or Die : both stamps are from last year and they are pretty old among my stamps :)).

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Christmas Shaker Card - The Ton

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well.
I was so lazy in card making recently. Every four family members of mine went through a tough cold one after another, then four weeks were gone in a flash :).  Now we are all fine and I hope I can make some more christmas cards to send them out on time.

It's my turn on The Ton's blog today, where I am sharing a christmas shaker card.
I tried to integrate the clear acetate window into my little scene on the card front :).
It would be great, if you have some time to read how I made this on The Ton's blog!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Best Wishes

Hello and Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a restful weekend!
Today I have a card to share with you which I made for the Altenew November Inspiration Challenge.
This is a CASE of my own card I made in January. It's hard to believe that it's almost a year ago when I made that card.

With this design in mind I made a new cutting file of the doodled frame slightly thicker than the old one to make it easier to cut with my Cricut. I cut it three times from a white card stock, stack them together and heat embossed it in white pearl EP.  The flower arrangement was made with the Beautiful Day stamp from Altenew. I stamped the outline image and the second layer stamp using various Distress inks and colored them with a water brush. To color the big flower I followed the directions of Marika Rahtu showed on her video tutorial for this card. I'm sure you all already know how amazingly talented she is :). I drew the stamen with some glitter pens and added shine on the big flower using clear Wink of Stella.

For the background I blended yellow and green Distress inks on a piece of water color card stock and splattered clear water and inks in the same color. I assembled my card as shown in pictures and added the sentiment from Basic Labels from The Ton in Everglade Moss dye ink with some foam adhesive.
To finish off I added some clear sequins.

I want to link up this card over at Addicted to stamps and More #221: Anything Goes as well.

Thank you for stopping by today!
I started writing this post in the morning and now it's already time for dinner :)! I'd better wish you all a good start into the new week!

The hop continues until Wednesday and some of us designers will be creating and posting for each day of the hop. So Suzy Stamps' stamps are famous for their beautiful delicate swirls and it works so well with The Ton's floral images! For today's Collaboration Hop I've chosen some silhouette images from So Suzy Stamps as my theme and made four cards using them.
Let's get started!

For my first card I used Folk Art Florals background stamp from The Ton and In Love and Celebrate stamps from So Suzy Stamps. I started off by heat embossing the In Love image in gold on some water color card stock. I then masked it to clear heat emboss the Folk Art Florals background on the same panel. I applied masking fluid on the dress and shirt of the pair to keep them in white and then colored the panel using Color Burst (Orchid, Fuchsia and Chartreuse) and pearlized water mist. After the panel was dry, I rubbed off the masking fluid and added some Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher on the dress and the shirt to give them more shine and some dimension. The sentiment Celebrate was stamped in Plum Wine on a white banner. To assemble my card I added a strip of purple Glitter tape on the left edge of my A2 top folding card base, before I mounted the front panel using some foam adhesive. To finish off I scattered a few clear sequins from Glass Slippers Sequins and rounded two right corners.

The second card is featuring Large Peony 1 from The Ton and Dancing Fairy and Be from So Suzy Stamps. To start off I stamped the Dancing Fairy onto the center of an A2 sized Bristol smooth paper panel in Noir Dye ink and clear heat embossed it.  I then stamped the Large Peony 1 in Soft Garnet, Coralline Hybrid and Grand Fuchsia using darker color to the center and again using embossing ink to clear heat emboss it. I colored the peony with Zig markers and added some shade of green and gray around the peony and neon yellow to the fairy. For the sentiment I inked up only the Be from the Be stamp in embossing ink and heat embossed it in gold. "what you want to be" was stamped in Plum Wine on a thin strip of white card stock and mounted on the card using foam adhesive. I added some sequins from I Dream in Peach Couture Mix as finishing touch.

For my last two cards I used the beautiful Holiday Border Cling background stamp from The Ton and the delicate silhouette image of Santa's Sleigh from So Suzy Stamps.

For this card I tried "white on kraft". I think the white embossed Holiday Border background on the kraft card base is simple yet shows festive holiday feeling on a snowy winter day. I filled the berries using white Pico Embellisher and added sparkle on poinsettias and pine cones with clear Wink of Stella. I then masked the image of Holiday Border background and stamped the Santa's Sleigh in Noir Dye ink. I borrowed the banner from the Thankful Cornucopia stamp set, which I white heat embossed on some red card stock and cut using the coordinating die. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Christmas Poinsettia Mini on the banner and foam mounted it on the card. To finish off I colored the noses of reindeers in red using red glaze pen.

On my last card I colored the image of Holiday Border Cling background stamp using Prismacolor colored pencils, before I heat embossed it in white. The sentiment on the gold heat embossed banner was stamped in Pink Derby

Seize the Birthday - Presents

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!
Today is Thursday and we have a new challenge starting today over at Seize the Birthday

Our Topping option for the next two weeks is Presents! As always you can choose the Anything Goes Birthday. Just remember to keep it a birthday theme!

I've created a CAS birthday card with the Topping!

I used the Beautiful Bow stamp set by AveryElle to create my wrapped present. I took a piece of pink patterned paper with tiny polka dot pattern, cut it in a squre and silver heat embossed the bow and ribbon on it. For the background I dry embossed a A2 sized white cardstock using a 3D embossing folder by Spellbinders and adhered it flat on my card base. The present was foam mounted onto the card, after I added some shade in Picked Raspberry DI on the edges. I then stamped the tag and the sentiment, fussy cut it and glued it on the present. To finish off my card I added two pink rhinestones on the tag.

I hope you can play along with us with or without Topping! Please hop over to STB blog to see the awesome projects by our DT ladies and our surprise party guest Sherrie Koning.

Have a great day and happy crafting!

Alcohol ink background

Hello and happy Thursday!
Today I'm over at The Ton blog sharing two Christmas cards with alcohol ink background.

They are actually CASE's of my own card from last year :)!
I hope you could find some time to hop over to The Ton blog for more details!

I truely appreciate your lovely comments and would appreciate your critical opinion about my cards too :)!

Have a crafty day!

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I posted something on my blog, except the scheduled posts.
It's because I have someone in my house who needs lots of attention.
May I introduce you Latte, our new furry family member since two weeks!!!

She is a 4 mo old Terrier mix from Oklahoma. We adopted her at a local animal shelter which works with a rescue team in Oklahoma. She is very smart but stubborn, so needs lots of training. Now after two weeks we are getting to know each other and I can find some free time for my crafting.

As Kathy's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge is running during November, I tried to draw and color some flowers when I have a piece of time. I colored a cosmos flower under sunshine on Day 4 using Prismacolor pencils and today I could turn it into a card.

I made a mask for the flower and blended the sky and grass using some DIs. I wanted to show the sunshine using bokeh technique, so sponged white circles in various sizes in the sky with circle stencils and white pigment ink. I then added some grass texture using Copic markers and splattered white ink on it. The sentiment is from Penny Black. I stamped it first in Plum Wine and again in Noir Dye ink from The Ton, as I wanted to make it darker.

I want to link up this card at The Flower Challenge #2: Occasion (Birthday card).

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!
Have a beautiful weekend!!!

Seize the Birthday - Stencils

Hello, everyone!!!
Happy Thursday and we have new challenge starting today at Seize the Birthday
The Topping for the next two weeks is "Stencils". As always you can link up any newly created birthday card in our gallery!

I took the Topping option and made this card using a ARTplorations stencil!

Recently I've purchased Nuvo Glimmer paste in Silver Gem. And the Topping at STB gave me the chance to try my new goody! I chose a textured purple cardstock and placed the ARTplorations stencil on it. After I applied the silver Glimmer paste on it, I splattered Shell Pink and Patina alcohol ink. This panel was then cut using a deckle scissors and glued flat on the card base on which I added some silver glitter paper. The sentiment is from Altenew. I silver heat embossed it on some purple cardstock. The strip with the sentiment was mounted using some foam adhesive.
The shine and sparkle of the glimmer paste is really awesome!

That's it from me today. Please head on over to the STB blog. The DT members and our surprise party guest Sherrie Koning have some amazing inspirations for you!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Halloween & Christmas

Hello, how was your halloween day?  I was busy visiting two different halloween parades at schools of my kiddos and one more in the neighborhood in the evening. Actually I'm the one who is happy that the halloween day is only once a year :)!

I forgot to write about my post on The Ton's blog yesterday.
I've made one halloween card, which isn't scary at all and one christmas card featuring some purple poinsettias.
I hope you could hop over to see my cards in full :).

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Just Because

Hello again! :)

I've made this card today which has been in my mind already for several days.
The inspiration came from the October Inspiration Challenge over at Altenewblog.

I started off by stamping the leaves and flowers from Floral Shadow stamp by Altenew using Aqua markers and spray of clear water. I used the fall colors of the color palette from the October Inspiration Challenge at Altenewblog. I fussy cut all the images and added some gold embossing after I drew in using an embossing pen. The wood grain panel was dry embossed on which I blended Vintage Photo DI. Before I assembled all the elements as shown in the picture, I splattered some gold ink on my card base. I took a sentiment from Bejeweled stamp set also from Altenew, white heat embossed it on the same dark brown cardstock like the woodgrain panel, cut and blended some Vintage Photo DI as well and foam mounted on the card.
To finish off I added a few gold and clear sequins. I added some glass glitter on the center of the flower. Michele's beautiful card reminded me of the glass glitter I have in my stash for a while :).

That's it for today! I'm very happy with the result, which is not that often the case :)!
Hope you like this, too!

CAS Watercolor October Challenge: Autumn (hope this is CAS enough.)

Have a great weekend! (already?)
