Halloween & Christmas

Hello, how was your halloween day?  I was busy visiting two different halloween parades at schools of my kiddos and one more in the neighborhood in the evening. Actually I'm the one who is happy that the halloween day is only once a year :)!

I forgot to write about my post on The Ton's blog yesterday.
I've made one halloween card, which isn't scary at all and one christmas card featuring some purple poinsettias.

Just Because

Hello again! :) 

I've made this card today which has been in my mind already for several days. 

The inspiration came from the October Inspiration Challenge over at Altenewblog. 

I started off by stamping the leaves and flowers from Floral Shadow stamp by Altenew using Aqua markers and spray of clear water. I used the fall colors of the color palette from the October Inspiration Challenge at Altenewblog. I fussy cut all the images and added some gold embossing after I drew in using an embossing pen. The wood grain panel was dry embossed on which I blended Vintage Photo DI. Before I assembled all the elements as shown in the picture, I splattered some gold ink on my card base. I took a sentiment from Bejeweled stamp set also from Altenew, white heat embossed it on the same dark brown cardstock like the woodgrain panel, cut and blended some Vintage Photo DI as well and foam mounted on the card.
To finish off I added a few gold and clear sequins. I added some glass glitter on the center of the flower. Michele's beautiful card reminded me of the glass glitter I have in my stash for a while :).

That's it for today! I'm very happy with the result, which is not that often the case :)!

Seize the Birthday

Hello everyone! 

Today I have an exciting news and one card to share with you :)! 

I'm joining the design team of Seize the Birthday challenge. I was so excited when Nancy from STB contacted me and of course I said yes :)! 

Today's card is my first project as a DT member at Seize the Birthday! 

The topping for the next two weeks is "Lots of Leaves". As always you can link up any newly created birthday card in our gallery! 

For this challenge I went with a CAS design. 

The stamps I used for this card are from the Wagon of Wishes stamp set by Newton's Nook. At first I stamped the pile of leaves on the center of my front panel, masked it off and then stemped the presents and wagon in Memento black to color them with Copic markers. To frame the image I embossed two stitched circles using SSS dies. The front panel was trimmed down a bit and foam mounted on the card base on which I adhered some shimmery silver cardstock. The sentiment was silver heat embossed on some hot pink cardstock, cut and added on the card using some foam adhesive.
To finish off I added clear WOS on the leaves and Glossy Accents here the there.

Treat yourself

Today is my turn on The Ton's blog! I have made two cards featuring chic and classy ladies from our New Release. They are in different style from my usual creations. But I had so much fun and the making reminded me of paper dolls which were one of my favorite toys as a little girl :).

Sending Warm Greetings

 Hello everyone!

I was coloring last night, this time using my Zig markers. Watercoloring is a hard one for me and it took three hours to finish this peonies.

I made a small peony cluster on the center of an A2 panel (Bristol smooth) using the Loose Peonies stamp set by The Ton. I borrowed the leaves from Large Peony 1 and  Large Peony 3.

I stamped the peonies in Tattered Rose and the leaves in Antique Linen DI, masking the images wherever needed. The colors I used for peonies are Light Pink, Light Carmine, Orange, Fl.pink, Dark pink and Blue gray, colors for leaves are Pale gr, Light Gr, Green and Persian Gr. I added some light gray shade along the outline of the bottom part. 

To turn the colored image into a card was not easy. At first I had no idea how to do for a while. 

As I wanted to give the flowers some sky, I decided to cut out a part, after I sketched a big circle. I then blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Crushed Olive on the white card base and added some white splatters on it. 

The sentiment is from Sending Peonies stamp set from The Ton as well. I stamped the "Sending" in black on the front panel and added the heat embossed (Liquid platinum) small sentiment using some foam adhesive. 

The front panel was foam mounted on the card base. To finish off I scattered some clear sequins.

Welcome and happy Wednesday!!!

Have you seen the inspiration picture over at Inspired by All the Little Things ? The pretty pastel umbrellas hanging in a bright showroom make a fantastic scene!
I've made two cards with that inspiration in mind.

For my cards I used alcohol ink dripping technique on glossy cardstock.
The alcohol inks I used are Sailboat Blue,Pool, Aqua, Citrus, Lemonade, Cool Peri.

On my first card I added white doodle lines on the ink drops. The umbrella from Penny Black was silver heat embossed. I then colored the umbrella using blue and yellow alcohol ink. The sentiment from Inkadinkado was stamped in black. I cut the sides of the glossy cardstock panel to immitate the line of the hanging umbrellas, added thin strip of silver glitter cardstock and foam mounted it on the card base on which I adhered a blue panel. 

 For the layout of my second card I took the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #193. This time I applied the alcohol ink drops more closely and added some dots in clear (using blending solution), blue and silver.
I narrowed down the alcohol ink panel, added thin strips of silver glitter cardstock on both sides and foam mounted it on a white card base. I silver heat embossed the umbrellas on some clear acetate, fussy cut them and adhered them on the alcohol ink panel. I silver heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of clear acetate as well and glued it on some blue cardstock. To finish off I added some rhinestones on the top of umbrellas.

Christmas cards

Hello everyone!

Over the weekend I made two christmas cards for my favorite challenges. CAS(E) this Sketch #193, Addicted to Stamps and More #214 (Clean and Simple) and Virginia's View Challenge #24 (Focal Point).

For the layout of both cards I took the awesome sketch of the CTS by Leigh Penner. I used some christmas stamps from the Fall Release of The Ton: Poinsettia Garden Background, Fresh Cut Poinsettias and Fresh Cut Poinsettias Outline stamp.

For my first card I stamped the Poinsettia Garden Background on a vellum using embossing ink and heat embossed it in silver. I then colored it on the back using Tombow markers and added Wedding Dress Pico on the Mistletoe berries. The waved panel was cut with my Cricut from a shimmery silver cardstock. After I adhered the vellum panel on my card base, I foam mounted the waved panel. The poinsettia was silver heat embossed on the same silver cardstock and fussy cut. The sentiment is from the Christmas Poinsettia mini stamp which I also silver heat embossed on a thin strip of the silver cardstock. I added Crystal Stickles on the poinsettia and a strip of a dark red cardstock underneath the silver sentiment, and then mounted it altogether on the card.

 It was quite a bit of heat embossing on a vellum and I couldn't prevent the vellum from warping, as you can see...

For the second card I silver heat embossed the Poinsettia Garden Background on some silver cardstock, added faux stich lines on both sides using a die from Paper Smooches and foam mounted it on the white card base. I stamped the layered poinsettia in Red Sangria hybrid ink, Lipstick Red and Spiced Chai dye ink on a piece of white cardstock and added silver Pico and Crystal Stickles on the center. The sentiment is from the Mistletoe Kisses stamp set by The Ton. I silver heat embossed it on a white cardstock, cut it and added a thin strip of Silver Glitter tape on the bottom. The fussy cut poinsettia and the sentiment was added on the card. The finishing touch was some sequins from the Santa's Sneezes Couture Mix.

I'll enter the first one into CTS #193 and Addicted to Stamps and More #214.

And I want to enter my second card into Virginia's View Challenge #24: Red Poinsettia as my focal point!

 

Recently I'm trying and experimenting what I have in my mind and I am often stuck on the way. Even though I want to participate in many challenges I see, I'm missing the deadlines :). I hope it gets better soon!

The Flower Challenge

Hello everyone!

Today I have three cards to share with you. Recently one of my lovely crafty friends, Aileen Ryan from Colour and Sparkle has started a brand new challenge, The Flower Challenge, which is dedicated to all things floral. And yes, I didn't want to miss this :)! And now I should choose one for the challenge, as I ended up with three floral cards :)!

I used Coordinating Outlines stamp of the Fresh Cut Garden Roses stamp set from The Ton to make the rose bouquet for my cards.

For my first card I used a well-known color combo: pink and gray. I wanted to achieve a no-line colored look. So I stamped the roses in Rose Quartz dye ink, a very soft pink and the leaves using Hampton White Pigment ink (some leaves show light green shade from the ink I previously used on the stamps) on a gray cardstock. I then started coloring using Polychromos pencils. I let the leaves uncolored. Instead of that I colored the outer area in gray. 

The sentiment is from the same set. I stamped it in Hollywood Star and Plum Wine for an ombre look and heat embossed the uppper part using silver glitter EP. I then added a thin strip of silver adhesive glitter paper. The sequins are from I deream in Peach, Purple Ballgown Couture Mix and Glass Slippers sequins. 

Now to my second card!

 Here I stamped the leaves in solid form from the Fresh Cut Garden Roses (layering) stamp set in Hampton White Pigment ink and added a little bit of green on them. I used soft pink cardstock and colored the flowers also in pink. I then added some Hampton White Pigment ink on the upper left area to tone down the pink.

 For the sentiment I inlaid the die cut happy from Birthday word dies, the upper half of which I blenden with Hollywood Star dye ink. For Birthday I heat embossed a lable from the Basic Labels set from The Ton on the same soft pink cardstock, fussy cut and adhered next to happy. To finish off I scattered a few sequins.

For my last card I colored the rose bouquet in yellow-orange. I decided to use one of the beautiful watercolor background panel by EunJi Jung as the backdrop for the rose bouquet. So I fussy cut the flowers and added it on the panel flat in upper part and using foam tape in bottom part.
The sentiment is from the Timeless Icons Sentiment stamp from The Ton. I stamped it in Noir dye ink.
I let this card without any embellishment.

I will enter the first card into The Flower Challenge #1: Anything Goes and the second card into Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes.

Hello and Happy Saturday!

Last night I made a card for the latest MUSE challenge #185. This week Aileen Ryan from Colour and Sparkle  is inspiring us with her gorgeous one layer floral card. She is one of my crafty friends, who always encourages me and inspires me with her amazing coloring skills. So I didn't want to miss this chance to CASE her card :)!

I made a one layer card with the same layout of Aileen's card and went with the colors she used.

I used here the Doodle Flowers stamp set from Dare2BArtzy, which was one of the first stamps I purchased. I stamped the images and the sentiment along with some masking in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed them. I then colored the flowers, leaves and the sentiment using my gel pens and glaze pens. To finish off I added some yellow Pico embellisher on the center of the flowers for some dimension.

I'm so happy I could manage to make this to enter into MUSE challenge #185! Hope Aileen likes my CASE!
