Seize the Birthday - Ocean Colors

Hello everyone!

Happy Thursday and happy last day of August  :) !!! I can't believe September is just one night away! Hope you had a great Summer!

Today starts a new challenge at Seize the Birthday. Toppings option for next fortnight is

OCEAN COLORS : Blue, Green and Aqua

I pulled out yummy Gel Sticks(Faber Castell) and created this ocean background.

To do embossing resist coloring I heat embossed the Wave pattern stamp by Hero Arts using Iridescent sparkle EP on a A2 sized Bristol smooth paper. I then scribbled blue and aqua metallic Gel Sticks on the panel and blended them with my finger. It looks kind of rough because of the glitter in the embossed image. But as it sparkles IRL, I like the effect. I silver heat embossed the fishes and the cat from Cat-itude by MFT on some Parchment vellum and fussy cut them all. I cut some part of the waves to put the fishes in it and glued the fishes. I slightly trimmed down the background panel and foam mounted it on a top folding cardbase. The sentiment was white heat embossed on a strip of navy cardstock and added onto the front panel. I then placed the fishes and the cat onto the card. I added a little bit of colors using colored pencils on the cat and added details using glaze pens. To create some bubbles I used Blue Lagoon and Sea Breeze Nuvo Drops.

Now it's your turn to create a birthday card using ocean colors and join us! Of course you may enter any newly created birthday card, if you want to.

One of a kind Card - Alcohol ink

Hello and happy Saturday! Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

I'm popping in to share a card with you which I made for Altenew August Inspiration Challenge. Erum is hosting this month and she chose for us one of her amazing projects as inspiration.

I picked the color scheme (Aqua, Green, Brown) from her inspiration card and made this card.

To start off I gold heat embossed the butterflies from Bejeweled stamp set on a glossy cardstock. I then applied the alcohol inks on the butterflies. I mainly used Patina and Limeade and a little bit of Turquoise and Citrus. I added gold Mixative on the body and on dots of the wings. I gold heat embossed and colored two more butterflies on a separate glossy cardstock and fussy cut the wings and body part of them. To create the brown background I dripped rubbing alcohol first and a drop of Hazelnut on the alcohol puddle to lighten the color. I moved the ink and alcohol mix to the direction I wanted by tilting the paper.

The sentiment is from the same set. I die cut a circle from the colored panel. I gold heat embossed the edge of the circle and stamped the sentiment in StazOn black. I adhered gold glitter tape from New Day Card Kit on the left and bottom edge of a kraft cardbase. I trimmed down the front panel slightly and mounted it flat on the cardbase. I then put the circle with the sentiment onto the place using some foam adhesive. The fussy cut butterflies were then added on the butterflies of the front panel. I glued the body directly on the body of the butterfly on the front panel and added some foam adhesive under the wings to create some dimension.
I finished off the card with some gold and clear sequins.

I want to enter this card also into Addicted to Stamps and More #256 : Anything Goes and Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday August/September: Favorite Stamps.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Seize the Birthday - No Topping

Hello all!
Hope your week is going well so far! Today starts a new challenge at Seize the Birthday
This time we have NO TOPPINGS OPTION!!! You can link up any newly created birthday card in the gallery!!!

Now to my card for today! Do you see the smile on my card? I think I was a little bit silly while I was designing this :) !

To start off I heat embossed the glasses decorated with Peony from Sunnies set by The Ton in Rose Gold and colored it with Zig brush markers before I cut it with coordinating die. I then dry embossed a parchment vellum panel using a Next Level EF and glued it on a dark gray cardbase. The sentiment is from Sunnies set as well.  I had the smile in my mind, so I curved the sentiment stamp and white heat embossed it on a pink cardstock. I cut it in a banner and foam mounted it under the glasses which is foam mounted on the vellum panel as well. To finish off I added two clear sequins.

Hope I was able to make you smile today! Please hop over to Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my amazing team mates and our Surprise Party Guest Lindsey from Bashful Blogging!

Pirate Animals

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I made a card using one of the digi-stamps, Pirate Animals, which EunJi from Eunjoa has designed. She offers her digi-stamps on her Etsy Shop, DotBStamp. If you a lover of critter stamps, you will find some cute ones on her shop :)!

I started off by making the cutting files for the pirate ship and the ocean. I cut them with my Cricut from a white cardstock and colored them using Copic markers. I printed the digi-stamp, Pirate Animals and colored them with Copic markers as well and fussy cut them. I added some accents using gold, silver and white gel pens. The clouds on the sky were blended using blue DIs on my cardbase. I then foam mounted the animals, ship and the wave onto the cardbase. The banner is also from the digi-stamp set. I added shades using C Copic markers, drew the lines with a gold gel pen and stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts in black on it. After I clear heat embossed the sentiment, I foam mounted the banner onto the card and added some aqua, silver and clear sequins to finish it off.

Thank you so much for looking!
Hope you liked my card!

Have a wonderful day!

The Flower Challenge #11 - Background Stamping REMINDER

Hello all!

It's already time for a reminder card for our August challenge at The Flower Challenge
You have still 10 days to enter your projects using background stamping technique!

For today's card I used one of the stamp sets which I purchased as I started card making two years ago. It is from Inkadinkado and is called Flower Flourishes. The 5 stamps in the set are all beautiful swirly flower clusters. I chose one of them and made my background.

I started by heat embossing the floral cluster on the center of my watercolor panel in white pearl EP, and repeated this until the entire panel was filled with floral clusters. I then colored the panel in Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick and Broken China Distress Oxide inks using wet on wet coloring technique. I left the top right corner not colored. I then colored the small flowers with Ciopic markers. I took the colors from the background. I narrowed down the panel and foam mounted it on a dark gray cardbase.

You can see the heat embossed background better in the picture below!

The sentiment is from the New Day Card Kit by Altenew. I white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock and foam mounted it onto the card. To finish off I scattered some pretty sequins.

Thank you so much for looking!
Hope to see your projects in the gallery at The Flower Challenge.

Altenew Card Kit Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I'm participating in a special Blog Hop! This is an inspirational blog hop focusing on the New Day Card Kit hosted by Altenew.
If you arrived here from amazing Amy Tsuruta's blog, you are right on track. If you lost on the way or want to start from the beginning, please head on over to the Altenew blog

New Day Card Kit includes everything you need to create cards for any occasions, from a floral stamp set (Floral Garden), base cardstocks, patterned paper pack, to embellishments!!! Since New Day Card Kit was released, I've seen so many gorgeous creations using this kit. It is an honor for me to be a part of this inspiring blog hop!

For today's hop I decided to create three floral cards using the flowers from Floral Garden stamp set in the kit as main focus. I colored the solid flowers in three different ways and created the backgrounds for them using various elements in the kit.
The floral images are solid, but I defined the petals and added dimension for another look!

This is my first card. Here I colored the flowers using Altenew Artist Markers and created the background with a hand-drawn-stripe patterned paper from the kit.

To start off I stamped the floral images on some white cardstock in light pink and light green and colored them with Altenew Artist Markers. I fussy cut them all and set them aside. I cut along the hand-drawn lines on the striped paper and glued it on the cardbase using Altenew Glue Tape so that it covers about two thirds of my black cardbase. I then arranged the flowers. I glued the bottom part flat and added some foam adhesives under the flowers to give them some dimension. I coated the flowers with a clear glitter pen. You can see the shimmer better in the close up picture below. The stamen was made using yellow Pico embellisher.

The SENDING is a part of Floral Garden set in the kit, I heat embossed it on the card in white using Altenew Pure White Crisp EP. For the HUGS I used the puffy stickers included in the kit.
To finish off I added two black enamel dots from the kit as well.

My second card is a soft and bright version.

I started off by stamping the images, the flowers in Soft Lilac and the stem and leaves in Morning Frost. I colored the images using Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut them all. To represent a vase, I created a small shaker element using a square wood veneer included in the kit. I added some light blue glitter and microbeads, which I colored with Aqua and Patina alcohol inks, to the shaker well. For the background I used one of patterned papers included in the kit. I added bokeh effect on it using circle stencil and white pigment ink, splattered gold watercolor and glued the panel on my white cardbase using Altenew Glue Tape. I then started to assemble my card by arranging the flowers on the right half of the card. I added some foam adhesives under the flowers for some dimension. Next I added the sentiment strip. The sentiment is from Floral Garden as well which was white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock with a mat of gold foil cardstock from the kit.  I then adhered the shaker square. I cut a square frame from the same patterned paper I used for the background and glued it on the shaker element.
To finish off I scattered a few clear sequins.

Next is the last card for today. I used the elegant and beautiful frame die included in the kit to embellish this card.

To start off this card I stamped the images using second generation stamping of Wilted Violet and Mowed Lawn DI.  I colored the images with Peerless watercolors. I used pearlized water while coloring so that the flowers have some shimmer. I fussy cut them all and set them aside to create the background. This time I chose a watercolor striped pattern paper in green for my base. I die cut a frame using the frame die and the gold cardstock from the kit. I cut an area with butterflies from a patterned paper and added to the frame. To assemble my card I arranged and glued two purple flowers. Here I added some adhesives to give some dimension to the flowers. I then foam mounted the frame and added a big flower on it.

The sentiment from Floral Garden is heat embossed in Pure White Crisp EP on a strip of purple cardstock and added onto the card. Two green enamel dots from the kit were my finishing touch.

So that was my three cards I created for today's hop :)! Hope you enjoyed looking them! I truly enjoyed making them:)!

Dot.B - Start On Etsy

Hello and happy Saturday!!!

Today I have a special card to share with you! Do you know Eunji Jung from Eunjoa? I'm sure you have encountered her beautifully assembled artistic projects in blogland. She recently opened her Etsy shop offering new digital stamps she designed. The shop is called DotBStamp

To celebrate the new start she asked me to make a card using her digi stamps. I chose Middle Age Animal, which includes elegantly dressed animals, and created a party scene.

This is the card I made.

I started by coloring the animals, printed on a Neenah solar white CS, using Copic markers and some metallic gel pens. I then fussy cut them all and set them aside.
For the background I blended the ray of lights using a sun ray stencil in Tumbled Glass and Mustard Seed and the floor in Hickory Smoke and Wild Honey. The sparkly decoration is a stamp from Sentiment Jewelry by The Ton. I gold heat embossed it repeatedly and added some glitter using Crystal Stickles on some dots. I added some shadow on the floor using gray Copic markers and foam mounted the party animals on it.

The sentiment was cut in a banner, matted with a gold foil paper and foam mounted onto the card.

Hope I was able to inspire you with my card today ! Eunji is also introducing her digi-stamps on her blog Eunjoa, so please stop by for more inspirations!

Big congratulations to Eunji on the new shop! Looking forward to seeing more fabulous digi-stamps in your shop, Eunji!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

The Flower Challenge #11 - Background Stamping

Hello everyone! Hope your August started off well!
Today I want to share my DT card I made for the new challenge at The Flower Challenge
The theme of our #11 challenge is

I created a DIY pattern using Watercolor Bouquet by The Ton.

I repeatedly stamped the Watercolor Bouquet on a white cardstock in Crystal Pewter (light gray) to make the background pattern. I then colored the flowers using Copic markers. To add more texture I dry embossed the images using coordinating die. I trimmed the panel slightly and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. The sentiment was cut with Birthday word die by The Ton, once from a white fun foam and again from Gold foil adhesive paper. I adhered them stacked up onto my card. To finish off I added a few clear Dew Drops

I'm not good at background stamping but this time I'm happy with the result :)!

Hope I could inspire you with my card to join us at The Flower Challenge!

Seize the Birthday - Tie One On

Hello crafty friends!!!

Hope your Summer is going great so far!!!  I have a Summer Birthday card to share with you today!
It's for the new Seize the Birthday challenge. The Toppings Option for the next fortnight is

As you know you may enter any newly created birthday card, if you don't want to take the Topping.

I tied a hammock between two palm trees!!! Honestly I'd love to be there in my card ....

To start off I made the circle beach scene on my A2 cardbase. I made a mask using a circle die and blended Warm Hazelnut for the sand, Cali Blue and Parisian Blue for the ocean (using blending tool) and Cali Blue on the sky (using Clarity Stencil Brush and homemade cloud stencil) while masking the other area. I then stamped the small palm tree from Palm Tree stamp set by The Ton in Soft Garden, Deep Emerald, Basil Mojito and Found Topaz. The hammock was stamped in Noir and the grass in Soft Garden and Deep Emerald. I die cut all the small elements using coordinating dies and foam mounted on the card base as shown in the picture. I added some natural twine to the hammock to tie it between the palm trees :).  The sentiment "Happy Summer" is from Palm Tree set as well. I stamped it in Parisian Blue and "Happy Birthday" from Beer set in Noir. To finish off I stamped the gulls in Smoky Quartz.

I hope I could inspire you with my card to join us for the new challenge!

The Ton August Challenge - SUMMER

Hello all! It's AUGUST!!! Time flies by literally...! Hope you are having a great Summer so far!

The Ton Challenge for the month of August is all about SUMMER!!! Pull out your The Ton goodies and play along before the Summer says good-bye to us :) !

I played with Wave and our newest stamp set, Mermaid Vibes to create a tri-fold card. I actually crated two panels and connected them with a middle panel.

To start off I created the backgrounds on some mixed media papers for the two colored panels. For my wave panel I added the blue watercolor on the bottom area, as I wanted to widen down the wave. I used Cerulean Blue, Turquoise and Indigo Color Burst to color. And on the underwater panel I created an ocean scene using the same colors. To show the clouds I dabbed off the color with paper towel while it was still wet. I then started stamping the Wave in Cali Blue, Azurite and True Navy on the panel on the bottom part of which I added the blue watercolor. I placed the Wave stamp high to the top of the panel. I blended True Navy on the watercolored area for a continuous look and added some clear glitter on the wave. I partially die cut the wave using coordinating die. I die cut a textured light blue cardstock in the same shape to mat the wave panel and glued them together. The sentiment is from Mermaid Vibes. I stamped it in True Navy on a strip of heavyweight white cardstock, added Lemon Drop on the left end by blending and glued it on the wave panel.

For the underwater scene I heat embossed the swimming mermaids from Mermaid Vibes in Rose Gold, colored them using Sparkle markers and fussy cut them. You can use the coordinating die which is available now. I then heat embossed the fishes and sea plants in Liquid Platinum and Rose Gold, and the sentiment from Palm Tree set in Liquid Platinum. The panel was matted with the same light blue cardstock like the wave panel. I cut one more light blue panel and glued the wave panel and the underwater panel on both sides to assemble the tri-fold card. I foam mounted the mermaids under the sea. To finish off I sponged the sun ray in Lemon Drop using a stencil and added some sequins from Glass Slippers Round confetti as bubbles.

This was my first tri-fold card :) !
I hope I was able to inspire you! If you have some of The Ton's stamps or dies, play along!!! One winner will get $50 gift certificate to The Ton online shop!
