Seize the Birthday - Kraft Card Base

Hello everyone! Hope you are doing well!

Today starts a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! The Toppings option for next fortnight is

Kraft Card Base

As I love to color using colored pencils on kraft cardstock, it wasn't a hard decision to do it again for this challenge :).

To start off I stamped the floral cluster stamp from Florets set by Penny Black on my kraft card base using an embossing ink. I stamped it twice on two diagonal corners. I then colored one cluster on left top corner using Prismacolor colored pencils. After done with coloring I white heat embossed the image with the help of MISTI. The sentiment is also from Penny Black. I white heat embossed it onto the card. For some more interest I dry embossed a deckle frame using Distressed Edges die from Spellbinders. Some holo clear sequins were my finishing touch.

That's it from my side. Now it's your turn to play along! If you don't want to do with Toppings option, you may enter any newly created birthday card as always!

The Ton October 2017 Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone!!! Are you enjoying The Ton's October 2017 Release Blog Hop?
If you arrived here from Brenda's blog, you are right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the hop, please hop over to The Ton's blog.

The Ton has released 11 gorgeous stamp sets and coordinating dies in this month which are available in The Ton's shop. Our design team member EunJi is designing digital stamps and some of her designs were used for this release.  I shared some of them already on my previous posts. If you want to take a look at them, click here, here and here.

Today I want to share my projects featuring Tulip Bouquet, Wishful Rose and Country Rose Cluster stamp sets.

Let's get started!

Tulip Bouquet
For my first card I watercolored Tulip Bouquet in the vase.

I usually do no-line coloring when I color flowers on my cards. But this time I tried to color black outlined image. I stamped the vase and the Tulip Bouquet in black archival ink and colored it. I did loose watercoloring using wet on wet coloring technique. I narrowed down the colored panel and foam mounted it on the light blue cardbase. I added white-blue bakers twine with a bow and the sentiment on the front panel. The sentiment stamped in Noir is from Tulip Bouquet as well. I clear heat embossed the sentiment and fussy cut it.  I added some Glass Slippers round Confetti to finish off the card.

My second card is featuring Wishful Rose. I planned to color a blue rose with Copic markers. So I stamped it in light blue ink on a Neenah Solar white panel.

Wishful Rose

I colored the Wishful Rose with Copic markers.  To keep the image mainly in blue I used bluegreen colors for the leaves. I then colored the image again with Polychromos colored pencils to add details. On the solid leaves around the image I added gray. After done with coloring I cut the panel along a curved line and the outline of the image and rounded a corner to mount it on a dark gray cardbase with some foam adhesive. The sentiment was white heat embossed on the cardbase. To finish off I scattered some sequins from Smoked Emerald and Blue Lagoon Couture mix.

For my next card I used Country Rose Cluster. The sentiment is from Celebration Rose Cluster.
I stamped the Country Rose Cluster on each corner of my watercolor paper panel to create a rose border. I used here a gray archival ink.

After I stamped the  Country Rose Cluster in gray archival ink on the watercolor paper, I watercolored them mainly in pink and purple. I added a bit of yellow and orange on some of the roses. After done with coloring I cut the panel using Double Stitched Rectangle die. The sentiment from  Celebration Rose Cluster was stamped in Noir. I mounted the panel on a white cardbase and glued some Glass Slippers round Confetti to finish off the card.

That's it from my side! Hope you enjoyed looking my cards today!

Scabiosa Bouquet - EunJi's Digital Stamp

Hello everyone! Hope your week started off well :)!

Today I have two cards to share with you. I'm guest designing again for EunJi's Etsy Shop "DotBStamp", where you can find her beautiful digital stamps. Today's digital stamp is called Scabiosa Bouquet

I chose watercolor as my coloring medium for today's cards. I'm practicing watercoloring these days and I'm loving it more and more. It takes very long for me to finish one project, but it doesn't hurt my wrist and hands which is the case with pencil coloring :)!

For my first card I combined the vase and the bouquet.

I printed the image out on mixed media paper and watercolored it. I added a little bit of pearl watercolor for some shine. I wanted a dark background but wasn't brave enough to make it even darker than that :)! I added some faux splatters using a white gel pen, cut the panel using Double Stitched Rectangle die. The sentiment is from Penny Black. I stamped it in ombre using Dark Roast and Noir dye inks. I foam mounted the panel on a chocolate brown cardbase and finished my card off by adding some Medallion gold sequins by The Ton.

For my second card I created a floral border by adding the bouquet image four times.

This was also printed on a mixed media paper. I then watercolored the image. For this card I used Daniel Smith Hero Arts Palette I've gotten with a monthly kit last year. For the subtle background I used light blue and gray Zig brush markers. After done with coloring I cut the panel using an A2 size Double Stitched Rectangle die, stamped the sentiment from Lucky Tulip set by The Ton in Noir and mounted it on a white cardbase. To finish off the card I added some White Blizzard Nuvo Drops on the center of the flowers.

The Scabiosa Bouquet is one of my favorite digital stamps by EunJi. Beautifully arranged delicate flowers are perfect for coloring with any medium.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
I hope you enjoyed my cards! Please stop by EunJi's blog and her Etsy shop for more inspiration!

Have a wonderful week!

The Flower Challenge #13 - Favorite Flower - Reminder

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!!

We are already on the half way of this month and this means it's time for the reminder post for our Anniversary Challenge at The Flower Challenge!

If you didn't play along with us yet! Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog. There are lots of prizes too to celebrate our first Anniversary.

For today's card I used The Celebration Rose Cluster from The Ton's October Release. Roses were not my favorite. But after I started to color flowers, I'm loving roses more and more. They have so many color variations and the beautifully layered petals are so delicate.

I tried to color the roses in almost white with pink tip on the petals.  That kind of roses are so beautiful and I wanted to represent them in my card.

I stamped the  Celebration Rose Cluster mainly in Tattered Rose DI on a Bristol Smooth paper. I added Twisted Citron on the leaves of the stamp and stamped again with the help of MISTI.  I then masked the image and blended Worn Lipstick DOX on the background. While I was splattering some clear water, I accidentally spilled the water over the panel. The blended color was washed out and that super soft background was created:).
To color the image I scribbled Zig brush pens on my palette and used them like watercolor.
The sentiment was heat embossed using Rose Gold Embossing powder by The Ton.

I glued the panel on a soft pink cardbase after I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle die.  To embellish my one layer card I used Raspberry Sparkle, Royal Garden Party and I Dream in Peach Couture Mix from The Ton.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Seize the Birthday - No Topping

Hello everyone!!!

A new challenge at Seize the Birthday has started today! This time around we have no Toppings option!!! So you may enter any newly created birthday card into our gallery!

I created a floral birthday card using one of EunJi's digital stamps. This one is called Botanical Scabiosa. You can see other digital stamps by EunJi at her Etsy shop DotBStamp

I colored the scabiosa flower using Polychromos pencils in blue and purple. I only focused on the folds and left other part white. The darkest shades are colored in dark cold gray and black. I added some sparkle on the image using Crystal Stickles, cut the panel using Distressed Edges die by Spellbinders and then blended green DIs on the bottom part. I chose a light blue cardbase and stamped Freestyle Stripes in Iris Blooms. I foam mounted the colored panel on the cardbase and added the sentiment banner using some foam adhesives onto it. The sentiment is from Dearest Peony. I white heat embossed it on gray cardstock. To finish off I scattered some clear and iridescent sequins.

That's it from me! Hope I could inspire you to play along!

Please don't forget to stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more inspirations from my team mates and our surprise party guest Becca Cruger!

Thinking of you - Inspired by All the Little Things #67

Hello everyone! Me again :)!

I'm trying to play along at some challenges these days :)!

Today I'm using another new stamp set from The Ton's October Release. This is a collaboration of The Ton and EunJi. The roses from this Country Rose Cluster are designed by EunJi, and Effie created a beautiful cluster using them. EunJi has the roses on her Etsy shop DotBStamp.  For the sentiment I used the Daffodil Greetings set. (It was an incentive gift with purchase and will not be available for purchase until November 2017.)

I was inspired by the picture at Inspired by All the Little Things #67 (s. below). I tried to represent the soft pink (coral) roses in an autumnal atmosphere.

I started by heat embossing the Country Rose Cluster on Canson watercolor paper in Rose Gold. I then colored the flowers using pink and gold pearl pigment mixed with watercolor. I tried to keep the image very soft. I drew the stripes using brown watercolor mixed with golden pearl and splattered the same color on the background. (The pictures don't show the shimmer.) I blended the edges with Brushed CorduroyDI and foam mounted the colored panel on a dark brown cardbase. The sentiment from Daffodil Greetings was white heat embossed on a strip of cardstock I colored in various brown and gold. I added gold foil underneath the sentiment strip and foam mounted it onto the card.
To finish off I added some sequins from I Dream in Peach Couture Mix.

It was not my usual way to color roses. And the vintage look isn't my style either. But somehow I love how it turned out :) .

Thank you so much for coming!
Have a happy day!

Hot & Spicy Colors - LIM 349

Over at Less is More we are asked to use Hot and Spicy Colors on our projects. As I read the theme, I thought it's a great chance to make one more Christmas card :)!

I did partial die cutting a few times but never cut a part of the cardbase out. After I saw  Jennifer McGuire's pretty projects using this technique, I wanted to give it a try.

And this is my card. The red is darker IRL than in the picture.

I started by stamping Christmas Mini Cluster by The Ton in Hampton White pigment ink on the dark red cardbase.  I colored the poinsettias with Prismacolor colored pencils and added glitter using Spica glitter pens. I then die cut the bottom part of the image using coordinating die and cut the lines with a craft knife. I white heat embossed the sentiment and added the lines in red and clear glitter pens. I glued a white panel cut with Double stitched rectangle die inside the card. To finish off I added some dots with red Pico embellisher.

I hoped the close up below shows the sparkle of the glitter pen.

The theme at SimonSaysStamp Wednesday challenge is Christmas. So I'll enter this over there as well.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I really appreciate your lovely comments :)!
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving - CTS 242

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card I made for the CAS(E) this Sketch #242 to share with you.

Last week The Ton has released 11 beautiful floral stamps inclusive this autumnal stamp set called Autumn Wishes

We will have a blog hop on Oct.26th to celebrate this special release. So please mark your calendars. If you want to take a look at the stamp sets, please hop over to The Ton's blog.  Effie has created many beautiful cards using new stamp sets and showcased them on three posts.

Now to my card!

I stamped the branches on a mixed media panel in Versafine onyx black ink and clear heat embossed them. I watercolored the branches and background. While coloring I added a little bit gold (Finetec) on the stem and background, and splatters in gold as well. The front panel was cut with my Cricut from a textured white cardstock. I've made the cutting file according to the sketch. The sentiment was heat embossed in bronze. I heat embossed the little bird and a maple leaf on a separate paper in bronze and watercolored them before I fussy cut them. The front panel was foam mounted on the colored panel and I added the bird and the maple leaf to finish off the card.

I really love to play with sketches! So glad I've managed to play along this time :) !

I want to enter this card also into SSS Work It Wednesday: Your favorite stamps

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Juliet Rose - EunJi's Digital Stamp

Hello everyone! Hope your week is off to a good start!

Today I'm sharing two cards I made using EunJi's new digital stamp, Juliet Rose. It is one of the stamps she releases on her Etsy shop this month! And a beautiful one as always <3 !!!

One of the benefits of using digital stamps is that you can adjust the size of the image. I've made two cards using Juliet Rose in two different sizes.

This rose was colored in R81, 83, 85, 89 Copics. I fussy cut the bottom part of the image and a curved line through the panel to pop it up on the background. The background was created using koi watercolor and gold from Gansai Tambi watercolor. I stamped the sentiment by Penny Black in Noir on the background panel. The rose was foam mounted along with a strip of plum shimmer cardstock. I finished off the card by adding some iridescent and clear sequins.

For my next card I printed the rose in smaller size than the first one.

I colored the rose in R20, 21, 22, 27 Copics. The frame was cut from white cardstock three times with my Cricut. I stacked them together and gold heat embossed it twice. The background panel is one of the watercolored panels which EunJi has designed and sold last year. I splattered clear water on it and gold heat embossed the splatters. I glued the background panel flat on the white cardbase, added the frame and mounted the Juliet Rose image. The sentiment is from Basic Labels by The Ton. I stamped it in Dark Roast and added some hand drawn leaves to it. Some sequins from Guava Sparkle and Flamenco Sunset were my finishing touch for this card.

Hope you enjoyed my cards! Stop by EunJi's blog and Jenny's blog to see their beautiful creations!!!

I want to enter the first card into Addicted to Stamps and More 262: Make your Mark!

Wishing you a wonderful week!
