Seize the Birthday - No Topping

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday. There is no Toppings option this time around so you can link up any newly created birthday card at our gallery!!!

I recently colored the Peony Laurel image by The Ton using my Prismacolor pencils and posted on Instagram. My actual plan was that I heat emboss the image in gold after done coloring. So I stamped the whole image in pink and left the stamp stuck on my MISTI. But when I was done coloring the peony in the center I liked the no line colored look so much that I changed my mind and decided to do no line coloring. One problem to solve was the leaves stamped in pink :) ! I've gotten a few suggestions how to solve this issue from Instagram friends. After all I colored the pink outlined leaves in teal and pink so they became leaves with pink edge and veins. A long story with a happy ending :)!

I masked the image and blended Soft Garnet and Soft Amethyst from the image towards the bottom of the panel. I then stamped Toned Squares in Soft Amethyst, Soft Garnet and Soft orchid on the panel.  I had used one of the stamps with yellow ink and didn't clean it well so the soft orchid on the right side was mixed with yellow.

I then cut the upper part of the image using coordinating die and foam mounted the panel on a blue cardbase. The die cut happy was cut with Peony Laurel coordinating diePeony Laurel  set has several outlined sentiments and there are coordinating dies for the sentiments as well. I cut the sentiment three times from some white cardstock and once from Silver Adhesive Glitter paper to stack them all together for some dimension. The small sentiment is from Peony Laurel  as well. I white heat embossed it on some soft pink cardstock, cut it in a banner and foam mounted it onto the card. I added silver bow on a bud along with a rhinestone. I finished off the card by adding some Glass Slippers sequins.

It was a quite hard one to assemble. Choosing the colors for the background stamps and cardbase, how to do with sentiments and embellishments... all those decisions took so long.
I'm happy with the result though. Hope you like today's card too :)!

Lily - EunJi's Digital Stamp

Hello everyone!

Eunji has released two new digital stamps this month and invited me to play with them. One of the new release stamps is LILY! You can take a look at her gorgeous samples and other digital stamps on her Etsy shop: DotBstamp !!! Hope you could stop by! On her blog you can learn how she watercolored this beautiful lily image!

This stamp includes two lily images. I chose the simple one for my card.

I placed 4 copies of the image on my panel using Keynote app and printed it on a Neenah solar white cardstock (80lb). I started coloring three lilies of them in black and white using warm gray Copic markers.

I then colored the last lily in pink. My reference flower was a pink stargazer lily. I used R32, 35, 46, 59 and RV 000, 02, 04 for the lily flower/ YG01, 21 and 13 for the leaves and buds/ G05, 07, 28 for the stem. I colored the background in G21, G85, G99 and blended the color with colorless blender.

I cut the panel using three Double Stitched Rectangle dies to make a frame. I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Always Cherry Blossoms set by The Ton on the central panel.  I adhered transparent glitter adhesive paper by The Ton on the frame and foam mounted it. Other parts of the panel were mounted flat on the cardbase. I drew white shade on the sentiment to pop it off a little bit.

Hope you enjoyed today's card! I just love EunJi's artistic design!

I want to enter this card with the sparkly frame into the SimonSaysStamp Wednesday challenge: Sparkle and Shine!

The Flower Challenge #19 - Shaped Cards Reminder

Hello everyone!!! Happy Sunday!

Today I have a vase shaped floral card to share with you! It is my reminder DT card for the latest Flower Challenge #19, the theme of which is SHAPED CARDS

This time I have CASEd my own card. I've made this card in Summer 2015 even before I started blogging. It was for a dear friend who was expecting a baby. I fortunately took a picture before I sent it to her !

At that time I bought my Cricut and had lots of fun playing with it. The vase was cut with a svg-cutting file I made using a pattern from

I used the same vase template this time but instead of roll up roses I made two big peonies using Pop Up Peony by The Ton. (I used the cutting file for the Pop Up Peony die.

I started by cutting the vase and the pattern with my Cricut. The vase is connected on its bottom line which is scored. Before I folded it I blended Broken China, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feather DOX on it. I cut the pattern part 4 times. I blended on two pieces of them the same colors of DOX. For the vase front I stacked the blended pattern on two cut patterns to give it some dimension. On the back of the vase I glued a blended pattern cut flat. I sprayed pearlized water on the vase for some shine and texture.

I then cut the peony petals twice, once from a light blue printer paper and once from a light green paper. The stamens were cut from yellow cardstock and the leaves from some silver cardstock.

I blended the same DOX I used for the vase on the petals and added pencil strokes using Prismacolor pencils. I then sprayed Sparkle Shimmer spritz on them and let them dry.

I cut a  panel which fit into the vase with my Cricut from a heavyweight white cardstock. It has a circle part on top for the flowers and a rectangular part on which you can write the message.  I glued the leaves on the circular part of the panel and assembled the peonies on it. I skipped the base layer of the green peony to make it smaller.

The sentiment is from Message Me set by Clearly Besotted. I stamped it in black pigment ink on a die cut leaf I cut from a light blue cardstock using a leaf die from Large Peony4 set by The Ton. I clear heat embossed the sentiment, blended a little bit of blue and green DOX on the edge of the leaf and foam mounted it next to the peony.

I put the finished inside panel into the vase and tied a silver ribbon to close the vase. You could open the ribbon to read the inside message or simply pull the panel out.

Thank you for reading my long and photo heavy post :)! Hope I could inspire you with my card!

Seize the Birthday - Vibrant Colors

Hello and happy Thursday everyone!!!

Today is Seize the Birthday Thursday :)! Our new Toppings option is

Vibrant Colors

But as always you may enter any newly created birthday card into our gallery!

I love the vibrant colors of Color Burst powders. So I decided to color some floral image using them.

This is one of new release stamps by The Ton and called Nesting Peonies. It is a beautiful peony tree cluster image with three sweet chickadee images. I gold heat embossed it on Canson XL watercolor paper and colored it using Color Burst powders.  I used Peony and Wisteria for the flowers and Phthalo Green, Sap Green, Indigo and Cerulean Blue for the leaves. And I made my chickadees in yellow-orange :)! After done coloring I fussy cut them.

The purple cardstock was cut with a Distressed Edges die from Spellbinders. I white heat embossed the sentiment, also from Nesting Peonies set, on it and foam mounted it on my white cardbase. I then added the peony tree and two little birds onto the card using foam adhesives.

Now it's your turn!!! Looking forward to seeing some vibrant projects in our gallery!!!

Sketched Blooms - Spellbinders Die D-Lites

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having a great week so far!

Today I have a birthday shaker card to share with you. I used Sketched Blooms2 Die D-Lites by Spellbinders to make this cute floral shaker card. My daughter's 6th birthday is coming next week and I'm sure she will love this :)!

Spellbinders generously sent me two Die D-Lites die sets to play with. The other set is called Build A Terrarium and I shared a card featuring it recently.

I started off by making the frame with two white blooms. I cut two different flowers using Sketched Blooms2 Die D-Lites from white cardstock and cut the frame using A2 Distressed Edges Card Creater Dies by Spellbinders as well from some white cardstock. I adhered a clear acetate sheet behind the frame and added the blooms on the acetate.

Next I prepared the background. I traced the frame on a A2 sized watercolor panel using a pencil so that I have a guide.  I "smooshed" Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover DOX for the green and Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick DOX as the flowers on the background panel. For the sky I blended Broken China and Salty Ocean DOX and splattered pearlized water. I drew grasses using alcohol markers only inside of the frame and blended more green DOX outside of the frame.

I cut one more bloom from some white cardstock and colored the tiny pieces from the die cut using alcohol markers. I stacked two bloom diecuts together on the background panel and inlaid the colored small pieces onto their places.

I then assembled the shaker card. I used some clear iridescent sequins and Passion Flower mix from Lucy's cards to fill my shaker.

The sentiment by Clearly Besotted was stamped in StazOn black ink onto the acetate.

Huge thanks to Spellbinders for inviting me to play with their products!
I had lots of fun!

Guest Designing at The Foiled Fox - No Line Pencil Coloring

Hello everyone!

Today I'm guest designing at The Foiled Fox blog again! For today's post I chose Vase Garden by Penny Black to do some no line pencil coloring on colored cardstock.

I started by stamping Vase Garden on a gray panel in white pigment ink. I then colored the image using Prismacolor colored pencils. I colored the poppies blue! I love blue poppies!!! I kept the image in soft spring colors. After done coloring I dry embossed the panel using a Double Stitched Circle die.

I trimmed the colored panel slightly down and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. The sentiment is from Grateful Heart by Penny Black. It originally reads "a thousand thanks". But I inked up partly to white heat emboss only "thanks" on some dark navy cardstock. I cut it in a banner and adhered it onto the card using foam adhesives. I finished off the card by adding some clear iridescent sequins.

Pencil coloring takes several hours but the result makes me always happy!

The Foiled Fox is a great one-stop shop for crafting, calligraphy and art projects. They have many art and paper craft supplies and tools. So please stop by their shop and look around!

Huge thanks to The Foiled Fox for having me as a guest today!

Sweet Terrarium - Spellbinders Die D-Lites

Hello everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Today I have a card to share I made using Spellbinders Die D-Lites dies.
Spellbinders generously sent me two Die D-Lites die sets to play with. One of them is called Build A Terrarium. It contains dies for three cute cacti and elements for a terrarium.

I created a DIY background pattern using three cacti and placed a terrarium with one cactus as my main image onto the center of my card.

First I drew the terrarium border on my watercolor paper panel with a pencil as a guide. I then die cut the cacti from the panel. I watercolored the die cut cacti in light green and the background of the terrarium like night sky in purple and prussian blue. I splattered some white ink on that too.  I trimmed the panel down and mounted it on a gray cardbase and inlaid the colored cacti back into their places.

The terrarium border was cut four times from white cardstock and once from a silver shimmer cardstock. I stacked them all together for some dimension. I glued the terrarium onto the card, added the brown dirt part and adhered a white cactus, stacked on two other die cuts, onto it's place.
The sentiment is from Sweet Smiles set by Lawn Fawn. I gold heat embossed it on a banner cut using a Ribbon Banner from Spellbinders. The ends of the banner were glued on the card and the center was raised using some foam adhesives. I finished off the card by adding two red rhinestones on the white cactus as its flowers (Sure!  it is a floral card, folks :) !!!).

I've created two cards for today!
The first card is featuring Forever and Always and Trigonometry.

I started by making the background panel. I stamped the triangles from Trigonometry in Dusk from Cool Summer Night Mini cube set and Maple Yellow from Pocketful Sunshine set. I gold heat embossed two triangles onto the panel. I gold heat embossed the rose cluster from Forever and Always on a Bristol Vellum panel, watercolored and fussy cut the image. The sentiment from Trigonometry was gold heat embossed on a strip of dark navy cardstock.

I adhered gold glitter tape from New Day Card Kit on four sides of the cardbase and foam mounted the background panel. I then added the floral cluster using some foam adhesive and glued the sentiment strip onto the floral cluster.

For next card I created a floral border using Happy Bloom set!

I stamped the flower bouquet from Happy Bloom set two times on top and bottom of an Canson watercolor paper panel in some copic-friendly black ink. I colored the whole panel with watercolors in purple, pink, yellow and light blue with lots of water to created a loose watercolor wash background. I then colored the image using Altenew Artist markers  except for the small pink flowers.

The colors I used are...

The sentiment is also from Happy Bloom set. I gold heat embossed it on a torn vellum strip and added it onto the colored panel by taping the vellum on the back of the panel. I foam mounted the panel on the white cardbase. I finished of by adding some white accents on the flower centers using a white glaze pen.

Hope you enjoyed looking my cards today!

The Ton Spring 2018 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to The Ton Spring 2018 Release Blog Hop!!!

Are you enjoying the blog hop :)?  If you've arrived here from Ilina Crouse's blog you are right on track.

It was another awesome release by The Ton with so many unique stamps and dies. I'm sure that you've found your favorites among the new sets. The new items are now available in the shop!

I used a cutting file and my cutting machine to cut the Geo Mountain pattern, as the die wasn't ready when I made this card. This die will be available when the orders ship out!

I stamped  Large Florals: Heritage Rose in pink using Couture Color: Peony Collection and Grand Fuchsia. The leaves were stamped in gray using Crystal Pewter and Smoky Quartz. I stamped the first and second layer in Crystal Pewter. I used the same colors to stamp the small flower buds. I fussy cut all the images and set them aside.

I made a pink watercolor background and glued it on the cardbase. I cut the Geo Mountain Coverplate die A three times from white cardstock and once from a white cardstock with subtle texture. I stack them all together and added it onto the card. I then arranged the florals as shown in the picture. The sentiment is from Peony Laurel set. I silver heat embossed it on a vellum banner and colored the letters in pink on the back of the vellum using Tombow brush markers.

I finished off the card with some sequins from Glass Slippers, Pink Cosmo Twist and Cotton Candy Puff Couture Mix.

Next card is featuring Dahlia Garden cling stamp.

I heat embossed it on a alcohol ink cardstock in Rose Gold. I then colored the dahlias using alcohol inks. I used Shell Pink, Flamingo, Raspberry and R22 Copic refill for the flowers and Limeade for the leaves. I cut a label from Modern Labels set using coordinating die from the center of the panel, from a pink fun foam and from some vellum. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Modern Labels on the vellum label.

I adhered the panel flat on a pink cardbase. I stacked the cut labels of fun foam, the colored panel and sentiment vellum together and placed onto the card. My finishing touch was some sequins from Pink Diamond, Garden at Dusk and Guava Sparkle Couture Mix.

That's it form me! Hope you enjoyed looking my cards!
