Painter's Vase - Penny Black

Hello everyone!

Today I have a couple of cards to share with you. I had a blast playing with a new cling stamp set from Timeless collection by Penny Black, called Painter's Vase (40-672). Also I used the sentiments from Grateful Sentiments set (30-547) for these thank you cards.
Painter's Vase (40-672) includes a beautiful bouquet and a round vase stamp in brushstroke style.

On my first card I simply gold heat embossed the bouquet on a alcohol inked background.

Before I started making the card itself, I tried some arrangements on some printer paper to pick one I liked. I used the sample as my guide while I colored the background.

To create the background I applied lots of blending solution on a Ranger Alcohol ink cardstock panel and dropped Raspberry, Flamingo, Shell Pink, Valencia and Sunshine Yellow on it and blended the colors by blowing. I left the upper part uncolored, only splattered some pink ink.

After the alcohol ink colored panel was completely dry I started heat embossing the bouquet image from  Painter's Vase (40-672) and a delicate branch image from Floral Silhouette (30-563) in gold as shown in the picture.

I heat embossed the thank you sentiment from Grateful Sentiments set (30-547) directly on the panel in black. The small sentiment was white heat embossed on a black strip and foam mounted onto the panel.

I finished off the card by scattering some gold and iridescent sequins.

For the second card I watercolored the image of Painter's Vase (40-672).

To start off I stamped the vase first in Tumbled Glass DI on a Canson watercolor paper panel. After masking the vase I stamped the bouquet image partially in Scattered Straw and the rest in Tattered Rose DI.

To watercolor the image I used Zig brush markers. As it is a brushstroke image the shading is already stamped and you can follow it while coloring. I didn't do any fancy coloring, just applied the colors and blended it out using a clear glitter pen. I stamped a branch image from Floral Silhouette (30-563) on the vase in Tumbled Glass DI to add some more interest.

After coloring was completed I stamped the sentiment from Grateful Sentiments set (30-547) in Onyx black ink on the colored panel. I then cut a rectangle frame from a silver cardstock and a border from some vellum which covers the outside of the frame.

I adhered the colored panel flat on a white cardbase, glued the vellum border on it and foam mounted the silver frame. To finish off I added black stamen using black glaze pen on the center of the flowers and some clear and iridescent sequins onto the card.

Thank you so much for looking my cards :)! Hope you like them!

I'm entering my first card into SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

Have a great one !!!

Seize the Birthday #162 - Spring

Hello and welcome, everyone!

Today is again Seize the Birthday Thursday! I chose the Toppings option this time around and it's

SPRING.

After a long Winter it's finally time for some spring blooms and warmer weather with sunshine here. Hope my crafty friends from the other side of the earth will play along with the toppings option too :)!

I've created two cards for today. Both are featuring beautiful floral stamps from Penny Black and colored using colored pencils. Tulips and magnolias, both flowers are Spring for me!

For the first card I've colored a beautiful bouquet of tulips using my colored pencils. The stamp set is called Flutterby (40-668), a new cling stamp set by Penny Black. The set includes the little butterfly stamp as well.

I stamped the bouquet and the butterfly in a white pigment ink on Toned Tan paper. I usually use an embossing ink when I want to no-line color some images on colored paper. This time I tried white ink and it worked very well for me.

I colored the images using my Polychromos and Luminance pencils, which I've purchased lately. The Luminance pencils have a good covering on colored paper like everyone says. And I like the coral colors I used for some of the tulips. Actually the only negative factor about the Luminance pencils is the high price :(.

After coloring was completed, I added the white outline using a white pencil. I then cut a mask, covered the image and splattered white opaque ink. I cut the panel using one of the Swirly Stitches dies (51-502) by Penny Black. The sentiment from Good Wishes set (30-541), also by Penny Black, was white heat embossed directly on the colored panel. As the Toned paper is relatively thin, I mounted it with a fun foam on a white cardbase for more stability.

My next card is showcasing Harmony cling stamp also by Penny Black.

I stamped the image  this time on a dark teal cardstock in a white pigment ink. I colored the image using colored pencils. Actually I wanted to gold heat emboss the image after coloring to pop it a bit more but I accidentally moved the stamp on the MISTI tool, so it was impossible.

I colored the background in dark purple, dark teal, black, Indigo, blue and green colors to add some interesting movement. I really love how it turned out!
After the coloring was done I cut the panel using one of the Swirly Stitches dies (51-502) again.

For the sentiment I used Good Wishes set (30-541) which I used for the first card too. I white heat embossed it on the colored panel and foam mounted the panel on a white cardbase.

That's it from my side! Hope you enjoyed looking my Spring cards!

Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers - Tropical Fiesta set Release Blog Hop!

If you have arrived here from Norine Borys' blog, you're right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the blog hop, please head on over to the Altenew Card Blog.

The new Watercolor Brush Marker set is called Tropical Fiesta. This set includes bright tropical colors. You can see the color swatch of the brush markers below.

I've created two cards to share with you.
For the first card I watercolored the beautiful flower and leaves from Wallpaper Art set using Watercolor Brush Markers Tropical Fiesta set.

I started off gold heat embossing the flower and leaves from Wallpaper Art set on Canson watercolor paper. I used Purple Wine and Turquoise for the flower. The flower center was colored in Fresh Lemon and Paper Bag. I colored the leaves in Paper Bag and Lava Rock. I gold heat embossed the small flowers of Handpicked Bouquet image as well and colored them in the same color scheme. I cut all the images using coordinating dies and set them aside.

To create the background I first gold heat embossed the solid foliage image from Wallpaper Art set twice diagonal on a watercolor paper panel and did some soft watercolor wash on it in Paper Bag and Turquoise. I added some splatters in the same colors and let it dry.

I then started assembling the card. The background panel was foam mounted on a kraft cardbase and the floral elements were arranged as shown in the picture. I added the flower using 3D foam tape for more dimension.
The sentiment is from Handpicked Bouquet stamp set. I heat embossed it on a strip of dark brown cardstock in Pure White Crisp EP and added it onto the card. To finish off I added some clear sequins.

Next up is an almost one layer creation made using Rennie Roses stamp set.

I started off by stamping the sentiment from Rennie Roses set in black pigment ink and clear heat embossing it on the center of a Canson watercolor paper panel. I then white heat embossed the cute roses and leaves from Rennie Roses set. I used the mask stencil to mask the roses if needed.

After the heat embossing was done, I started coloring the image and background. I colored the roses in Fresh Lemon, Sunkissed and Crimson. For the leaves I used Lime and Sweet Leaf. I splattered orange and green colors on the background while masking the images. The white splatters were added without masking the images.

I cut down the panel slightly smaller than A2 size and foam mounted it on a orange cardbase. To finish off I scattered orange, yellow and clear sequins on the card.

That's it from my side today! Hope you enjoyed looking my cards :) !

The Flower Challenge #30 - Anything Goes - Reminder

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend!

Today I have a reminder DT card for the current Flower Challenge to share with you. It is Anything Goes Challenge. Any floral card with flowers as main focus is welcome in our gallery!

I've made a card featuring a floral hat I sketched during The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge in February. It's my third hat. The Nr1 and 2 are shared on the first DT post of March .

I sketched the hat digitally and printed it on a Neenah solar white panel. I colored it using Copic markers and Polychromos colored pencils. I tried to represent a airy Summer straw hat :)! After the coloring was done I fussy cut it out.

Turning the hat into a card wasn't easy. After a long brainstorming I decided to put it on a lady. So I sketched a face in line-art style. To add more floral element I stamped the beautiful bold peonies from Peony Duo set by The Ton after masking the face. I stamped the flowers in Tattered Rose DI and the leaves in Twisted Citron DI. They were colored using Color Burst powders. I splattered some blue and white ink on the background and let the panel dry. After the panel was dry I cut it using a Double Stitched Rectangle die.

The sentiment is from Timeless Icons Sentiment set. It's a beautiful saying by Audrey Hepburn. I gold heat embossed it on the colored panel. The colored panel was mounted flat on a white cardbase and the hat was then foam mounted.

That's it from my side. Hope I could inspire you to play along with us!

Seize the Birthday #161 - Dots & Stripes

Hello everyone!

Today is the first Seize the Birthday Thursday of March. The new Toppings option for the next fortnight is
DOTS AND STRIPES

But as always you may enter any birthday themed card into our gallery!

I've made a CAS card with a bouquet of dotted and striped flowers :) !!!

I started off by searching for some patterned papers in happy colors with dots and stripes from my stash. I then die cut the flowers and leaves using Layered Floral Elements Die set by Altenew from those patterned papers. I cut the base layers from some white cardstock and colored them using Copic markers.

I adhered the layers of the die cut elements and set them aside. To add more stripes I've made a small panel by adhering Rainbow Stripes washi tape by Altenew on some white cardstock.

I then assembled my card together. I adhered a panel of white linen cardstock by Ellen Hutson on a kraft cardbase and foam mounted the small striped panel on it. The sentiment from Message Me set by Clearly Besotted was stamped in black pigment ink on the white linen paper and clear heat embossed. I arranged my little bouquet on the striped panel and the card was finished!

It would be great to see your creations in our gallery!

Altenew March 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

If you arrived here from Kymona Tracey's blog, you're right on track. You can hop over to the Altenew Card blog to start from the beginning of the hop.

As always it's a huge pleasure and honor to be part of Altenew's Release blog hop along with amazing crafters! Altenew did it again!!! The new designs are so unique and beautiful! I had a blast playing with the new items and have made five cards to share with you all!
Let's get started!

My first card is showcasing Book Club stamp set.

This set is designed to be used to create a label for your planner, journal or books. But I've made a thank you card using it. As I first saw this stamp design, the idea to color the main image with alcohol inks popped in my mind. To make it more dramatic I decided to color the background too.

I started by creating the background "wash" on a glossy cardstock in Shell Pink and Flamingo alcohol ink. I applied the blending solution first and dropped the Alcohol ink on it. I then blew the colors to blend them. I also splattered the colors on it. After the panel was dry I gold heat embossed the image on it and colored it using Poppyfield, Valencia, Flamingo, Sunshine Yellow and Limeaid. I used micro applicator to apply the ink on the small area.
I colored the inside of the circle in the center by dripping the inks.

I added thin strip of gold glitter tape from New Day Card kit on both sides of the colored panel and foam mounted it on a dark red cardbase. The sentiment from Thank You Builder set ,also from this release, was gold heat embossed on a vellum circle piece and added onto the circle. I colored the letters using a white gel pen and the card was done.

The second card is featuring One Day at a Time set. This set includes 4 blocks of marble pattern and some beautiful sentiments.

I started by stamping the marble patterns. I chose two patterns with bigger area and stamped them in Rose Quartz and Soft Lilac respectively. I then use another pattern with more lines than area and stamped it in Puffy Heart and Lavender Fields on the top of the previously stamped pattern. I cut them in squares and scored border lines to add more interest. I applied the darker ink colors also on a white cardstock which I cut in squares slightly larger than the marble squares.

I adhered the bigger squares on a black cardbase and foam mounted the marble squares on top of them. I splattered white opaque ink on diagonal corners while covering the marble squres. The sentiment from One Day at a Time was stamped in a black pigment ink and clear heat embossed on the pink marble piece.

The branch is from another set of this release, Wallpaper Art. I heat embossed it partly in silver and partly in Liquid Platinum and cut it using the coordinating die. I added the branch onto the card using some foam adhesives. I finished off the card with some iridescent sequins.

The next card is showing Prettiest Pomander set. It is a layering stamp but I used the outline image to do no line coloring.

I stamped the pomander slightly offset on the right side of an A2 Bristol smooth paper panel in a light color and colored it using Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Spring Garden set.

To create the front panel I adhered Rainbow Stripes washi tape on a white panel and cut the pomander out. I mounted the base panel with the colored pomander on a red cardbase and foam mounted the front panel with the stripes.

The sentiment is from Versatile Vases stamp set. I've made a red ombre stripe using Copic markers and white heat embossed the sentiment on it and added it on the card. I finished off the card by adding some enamel dots from New Day Card kit and a red-white bakers twine to the pomander.

Next two cards are featuring Wallpaper Art stamp set, my absolute favorite from March release!

I stamped the flower first in white pigment ink on a dark teal panel and colored it using Prismacolor colored pencils. I used a dark teal cardstock from New Day Card kit. After the coloring I gold heat embossed the outline image. It was possible as I left the stamp in the MISTI. I then masked the flower and went with the branch images in the same way.

After the stamping, coloring heat embossing were all done, I scored lines on the top and left border of the panel and adhered the panel on a white cardbase.

The sentiment is also from Wallpaper Art stamp set. I gold heat embossed it on a strip of gray cardstock and foam mounted it onto the card. I finished off the card by scattering some golden sequins.

On my last card I combined Wallpaper Art stamp set and Versatile Vases stamp set.

I stamped the flower bouquet in a vase in a light color on Canson watercolor paper and watercolored the image using Altenew Watercolor 36 pan set. I used mainly Crimson mit Rubellite and Grape Vine to color the flowers.

I colored the ground in brown and splattered Jet Black while masking the image.  I added very light blue on the top of the panel and let it dry. The sentiment is from One Day at a Time set. I heat embossed it directly on the colored panel in black EP.

I cut the panel slightly smaller than A2 and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. I finished off this card with some clear sequins.

That's it from my side. I hope I could show you how beautiful and unique the new release items are!!!
