The Flower Challenge #32 - Embossing: Heat or Dry - Reminder

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog!

I'm popping in again to share my DT card for The Flower Challenge #32: Embossing! It's time for a reminder post for the current challenge! You have time to enter till 25th. And there is a prize to win!
For more details about the prize sponsored by Altenew, please click here.

I did heat and dry embossing to create my background. I used also emboss resist technique.
For this card I used Watercolor Stripes stencil , Crown Bloom stamp set and Moments in Time by Altenew.

I started off by making a watercolored background panel in red. I used Brusho powders in various red shades. I sprinkled the pigment powders on a watercolor paper panel and sprayed clear water on it. After the panel was dry I fixed the Watercolor Stripes stencil on it. I first dry embossed the panel with the stencil and applied embossing ink on it to clear heat emboss the stripes. After heat embossing was done, I applied the red Brushos again with spritz of water onto the panel to add more red color to the not-embossed part of the panel. After the panel was completely dry, I added white opaque ink splatters.

I then started working on the floral cluster. I stamped the flower and two leaves from Crown Bloom stamp set on a white cardstock in Memento London Fog ink. I then colored them using Copic markers in C colors (C1,3,5 and7) and cut them using the coordinating dies.

The background panel was foam mounted on a white cardbase. I arranged the flower and the leaves as shown in the picture. The flower was added using foam adhesives for more dimension. The Sentiment from Moments in Time stamp set was white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock, cut in a fish tail and added to the card. I thought it needs some black on the right side as a counterpart to the sentiment strip, so I added three black rhinestones. I finished off the card by adding dots on the stamen using a glitter pen.

Hope you enjoyed looking my card and I could inspire you to play along at The Flower Challenge!

Couldn't find this on Instagram yet, so I'm commenting here. 🤭 Usually, I am so in awe of your coloring that I probably can't recover enough to appreciate your composition. On this card, I love how you achieved so much drama from the black & white (or gray & white) against that red, yet it is not too graphic but is rather artsy due to the technique on the red stripes. So well balanced! 😍😍😍

I had to come by to see how you achieved this perfect white bloom with gray! Of course you colored it! LOve the fun background you've made, TaeEun!

Stunning, TaeEun. A lot of work went into the background and I will have to try something similar because I love the look. I can do the same with the flower because I don't have Copics, but it is gorgeous.
