Today I have a birthday card to share with you. It's Seize the Birthday Thursday today :)! We have no Toppings option for next fortnight. You may enter any birthday themed projects into our gallery!
I've made a one layer card using a cute critter stamp set by Penny Black. It is called Be Happy(30-583) and includes five cute critters with pretty plants on their back :)! I also used a floral stamp from Flower Fantasy set (30-565) by Penny Black to give the giraffe something cheery.
I started off by stamping the giraffe and the floral branch on a white panel in orange and pink archival ink respectively. I then masked the border of the panel and the giraffe to ink blend in the background.
I used Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean and Worn Lipstick DOX. I splattered clear water on the panel and dab it off. I also added white splatters.
After removing the masks I started coloring the images using Copic Markers. At that point I thought the orange outline of the giraffe is too light, so I drew the outline using a brown fine liner. I added some accents using a white gel pen and gold heat embossed the sentiment from Special Sentiments set (30-574) by Penny Black.
