Hot & Spicy Colors - LIM 349

Hello!

Over at Less is More we are asked to use Hot and Spicy Colors on our projects. As I read the theme, I thought it's a great chance to make one more Christmas card :)!

I did partial die cutting a few times but never cut a part of the cardbase out. After I saw  Jennifer McGuire's pretty projects using this technique, I wanted to give it a try.

And this is my card. The red is darker IRL than in the picture.

I started by stamping Christmas Mini Cluster by The Ton in Hampton White pigment ink on the dark red cardbase.  I colored the poinsettias with Prismacolor colored pencils and added glitter using Spica glitter pens. I then die cut the bottom part of the image using coordinating die and cut the lines with a craft knife. I white heat embossed the sentiment and added the lines in red and clear glitter pens. I glued a white panel cut with Double stitched rectangle die inside the card. To finish off I added some dots with red Pico embellisher.

I hoped the close up below shows the sparkle of the glitter pen.

The theme at SimonSaysStamp Wednesday challenge is Christmas. So I'll enter this over there as well.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I really appreciate your lovely comments :)!
Have a wonderful day!

Bring on the happy

Hello again :)!

I'm popping in to share this one layer card with you. This one is for Less is More #345: OLC Coloring in

For this card I colored one of the gorgeous digital stamps, Botanical Bouquet Rose, which EunJi designed for her Etsy Shop "DotBStamp". Eunji is showcasing her digital stamps almost everyday on her blog Eunjoa. So please stop by her blog. I can say, those cards are BEAUTIFUL!

And this is my card!

I colored the image using Copic markers and added details with Polychromos colored pencils. The Copics I used for flowers are
     Big rose: R20, R21, R22, R24
     Small red rose: RV000, R81, R83, R85
     Small pink rose: RV000, RV02, RV04, RV06
The sentiment is from Penny Black and is stamped in Noir dye ink.

Some clear and iridescent sequins are my finishing touch!

Thank you so much for looking!
Have a happy crafty day!

Black Magic - White Anemone

Hello, everyone!

Today I have a card to share with you. This was made with the collaboration challenge of Less is More #336 337 and AAA cards #94 in mind. The theme for this special challenge is ONE LAYER CARD ON COLORED CARDBASE.

I colored a white anemone on black using black magic technique : In this technique you stamp or color the image in white on dark surface and color them using colored pencils.

I stamped the base layer of an anemone flower and leaves from Fresh Cut Anemones by The Ton in Hampton white pigment ink on black cardstock. I stamped it just before I went to bed, so that it could dry overnight.
On next day I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils. I drew the stem by hand with a white pencil. I've filmed while I was coloring. You can watch my first process video here below or on my YouTube channel :)! It's only the pencil coloring part. Hope I could make a start to finish video some day :)!

After done with pencil coloring I added the stamen using black and purple glaze pens. To brighten the image I colored the outer edge area of the petals with a white gel pen. I smudged the white gel ink with my finger before it dried, so the strokes could blend. The white heat embossed sentiment is from Summer Blooms stamp set by The Ton. To finish off I splattered opaque white watercolor on the panel after covering the image and the sentiment.

Here is my video :)! Hope you like it!

Guest Designing at Less is More #325

Hello and happy Saturday everyone!

Today I have a special card to share with you! Awesome DT ladies from Less is More challenge invited me to be their guest, after my card was showcased at the Less is More 6th Birthday Challenge.  Of course I said YES! Less is More challenge is one of my favorite challenges and is the challenge where I've got my very first recognition with this card :)!

This week is a Recipe week and the cue card says STRIPE!

I like to add stripes in my card as a background. But this time I wanted to give the stripes some meaning more than being a background. So I made grassy hills with my stripes.

I used a stripe from a border stamp set by Waffle Flower. I stamped them in ombre green using Crystal Garden Collection inks by The Ton. I stamped yellow daffodil image from A Bunch stamp set by Penny Black along the way and continued to stamp the stripe after masking the flower image. I used for daffodil copic-friendly Caviar hybrid ink to color them with Copic markers. I added some detail to the flowers using Polychromos pencils and corrected some part of the stripes with pencils too.
The sentiment is from Penny Black. I stamped it on a yellow striped clear acetate strip using black StazOn and mounted it in the same angle as the stripe on the card. To finish off I added some dots using yellow and green Nuvo drops, unfortunately I added some smear of it too :). I obviously need more practice with Nuvo drops!

I hope you enjoyed my card and join in the striped fun at Less is More!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Yellow Lilies

Hello there!
It's me again :). I'm popping in to share a CAS floral card with you I made with the sketch of Less is More #317. I flipped the sketch.

The lily flower is from Hero Arts. I stamped it twice in black along with masking, cut a circle out and colored the part in the circle using Copic markers. After I foam mounted the highlighted part, I drew three yellow lines using some gel pen. The sentiment is from Oriental Orchid stamp set from Altenew a narrow sentiment, just what I wanted for this card :). I white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock and adhered it. To finish off I added three dots using Pico Embellisher and a coat of clear Wink of Stella on the lilies.

I want to link up this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #231: Anything Goes as well.

And I want to join in the TIME OUT's 3rd Birthday Party
Theme: Love and/or Friendship with the optional twist of 'spotlight stamping'
Happy Birthday and thanks to Nonni for the notice :)!

Thank you for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

with Love

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a nice day!
I enjoyed sunny spring weather over the long weekend. Today it's a bit cloudy but okay.

I made a floral card for Less is More #316 and SimonSaysStamp Wednesday challenge: Fantastic Florals. The theme at Less is More is Alphabet. So I integrated a big L of my "with Love" sentiment into my Beautiful Dahlias Bouquet from WPlus9.

First I colored clear heat embossed bouquet with Zig brush markers. I blended the colors with clear Wink of Stella. I then sketched the L with a pencil and cut it out. I cut along the outline of the big dahlia to keep it intact on my front panel. The open lower case alphabets are from Lawn Fawn. I clear heat embossed them too and colored them with Zig markers and then added "with" in light gray. I glued the cut out L flat on my card base and the front panel using some foam adhesive. I finished off my card with some sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Wishing you all a happy week!

LIM - Balloons/ ATCAS - Wish/ ATSM - Make Your Mark

Hello and happy Tuesday(or Wednesday :))!

Today I have three cards to share with you.
It's been long since I played along at Less is More challenge last time. This week I'm trying to join in my favorite challenges again. The recipe at Less is More #313 (Balloons) gave me a chance to use this adorable stamp by Penny Black, which I purchased a while back but haven't used yet.

I stamped the doggy with a balloon in black Memento ink on a white card stock and colored it using Copic markers. The doggy was colored after the favorite fluffy doggy of my daughter. And pink is her favorite color :). The sentiment in black is from Clearly Besotted. I cut out the middle part of the panel to show the cloudy sky on the card base, which I made by blending some blue DIs on a cloud mask. For more shine I added Shimmer Pico on the balloon and the nose of the doggy. I finished off the card with two enamel dots.

Next two cards were made after watching some of video tutorials by Kelly Latevola. I love her colorful and bold style and the dimension she creates on her one layer card.
The stamp is Flower Cascade by Penny Black.

This card is a one layer card in Kelly's style. I created the background after masking the image by blending DIs in rainbow colors and adding splatters of clear water and white ink. Coloring was done with Copic markers. I added gray shades along the outlines and some white accents here and there using a white gel pen. The sentiment from Penny Black was stamped in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed. I added white outline to it. The flowers got a coat of Wink of Stella.

The last card is for the Addicted to CAS #103: WISH.

The flower cascade was done like the previous card. But for a CAS look I cut out the image and foam mounted it on a white card base. I then took a circle sentiment from SimonSaysStamp and stamped it three times in ombre gray shades. The die cut wishing is also from SSS. I cut it out from a piece of white cardstock on which I blended DIs in rainbow colors. I cut a same sentiment from a yellow fun foam to add it under my die cut sentiment for some dimension.

I'm happy with how they turned out. I want to say thank you to Kelly for her fabulous video tutorials!!!

I want to enter my second card into Addicted to Stamps and More #227: Make Your Mark and the last one into SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Sending many thanks

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today's card will be a last-minute entry over at Less is More challenge #293 which has the one layer card week with the theme "Your favorite flower". And I didn't want to miss this theme :)

Tulip is one of my favorite flowers. And this gorgeous stamp from The Ton, designed by so very talented EunJi Jung is what I chose for today's card. As this is a big floral stamp I took out my alcohol inks and a glossy CS. After I gold heat embossed the image, I dripped the alcohol ink (Lemonade, Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Orange for the flower/ Citrus, Botanical and Pesto for the stem and leaves) carefully on the image and tilted the paper to move the ink to the intended direction. I then gold heat embossed the image again with the help of Misti. The splatters were made with Sunshine Yellow.

The sentiment is from the Sending peonies stamp set by The Ton.  I stamped it in Noir dye ink.
Finishing touch was the clear droplets made using Glossy Accents.

I want to enter this card also into these Challenges
Virginia's View Challenge #23: Spray, Mist & Splatter (splatter as an element on my card)

Poppies

Hello!
I hope you had a good start to the new week!

Today I have a watercolor floral card to share with you which is featuring poppies and sentiment from Technique Tuesday.

I started off by stamping the image using red and green pigment inks on a watercolor CS. After watercoloring I cut the panel diagonal and along the outline of the flowers to follow the Sketch from Less is More #278.  I then added some splatters using a MFT stamp in red on my card base and blended some green DIs on the bottom of the watercolor panel, which was mounted with foam tape on the card base.
To finish off I added red and clear sequins. I think I've misplaced  some of them :).

I'm entering this also into Addicted to CAS #89: Petals and SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Thank you all for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Hydrangea

Hello, crafty friends!
Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Today I have two one layer cards to share with you.
I had some coloring time with the Mondo hydrangea from Essentials by Ellen.
I used Prismacolor pencils.

Here I colored the flowers on a white CS.
The sentiment was stamped using pigment inks and clear heat embossed.

For the second card I stamped the flowers on a kraft card base.
The sentiment was stamped in white and slightly shifted again in blue and purple.
I drew here a white outline around the flowers.
To finish off the cards I added some Crystal stickles on the flower centers.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Polka Dot Umbrella

A very quick post for this easter sunday!

This card was made for the Less is More challenge #269: Polka Dots and CASology #190: Weather.
I thought a polka dot patterned umbrella should fit into both challenges.

I found this wise quote on the internet and printed it on a white CS. I used Bernardo Moda Bold for "a Mind is like an Umbrella" and  LaurenScript for "only useful when open". The umbrella is from Penny Black. I paper pieced a rainbow polka dot patterned paper on the umbrella and coated it with Shimmer Pico Embellisher.

Hope you are having a happy easter sunday!
