Happy Thanksgiving - CTS 242

Hello everyone!

Today I have a card I made for the CAS(E) this Sketch #242 to share with you.

Last week The Ton has released 11 beautiful floral stamps inclusive this autumnal stamp set called Autumn Wishes

We will have a blog hop on Oct.26th to celebrate this special release. So please mark your calendars. If you want to take a look at the stamp sets, please hop over to The Ton's blog.  Effie has created many beautiful cards using new stamp sets and showcased them on three posts.

Now to my card!

I stamped the branches on a mixed media panel in Versafine onyx black ink and clear heat embossed them. I watercolored the branches and background. While coloring I added a little bit gold (Finetec) on the stem and background, and splatters in gold as well. The front panel was cut with my Cricut from a textured white cardstock. I've made the cutting file according to the sketch. The sentiment was heat embossed in bronze. I heat embossed the little bird and a maple leaf on a separate paper in bronze and watercolored them before I fussy cut them. The front panel was foam mounted on the colored panel and I added the bird and the maple leaf to finish off the card.

I really love to play with sketches! So glad I've managed to play along this time :) !

I want to enter this card also into SSS Work It Wednesday: Your favorite stamps

Birthday shaker card

 Hello!

It seems Summer finally is saying good bye to us. It was a long one this year.
And we are ready for Autumn, aren't we?

Today I've played again with my alcohol inks. It was my first trial to heat emboss an image on clear acetate and color it using alcohol inks.

My actual plan was to color on the front of the acetate. But I thought the image from Altenew I chose for today's card is to small for that technique. So I colored on the back of the acetate after I heat embossed the image in gold. I used my favorite color combo of alcohol inks (Wild Plum, Raspberry) for the flowers and Citrus for the leaves. At first I used the alcohol ink blending pen filled with blending solution. I took some ink with the tip of the pen and colored the image with that. But it left too many strokes of the pen behind. So I decided to drip the ink on the acetate and erase the ink went outside the lines using blending pen, which made the color more vibrant.
I used Misti tool to align the image on the front panel and on the acetate sheet.

For the background I blended Salty Ocean DI and Soft Garden dye ink from The Ton on the card base.
I chose as my shaker element some gold, green and blue beads mix.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I think I went too far with the sentiment, which I stamped once in orchid and slightly offset gold heat embossed. Maybe a simple black sentiment would have worked better :).

TEAR

Hello, did you all have a good start into a new week?
Today I have a card for CASology #197 to share with you. The cue word this week is TEAR.

I used a torn element to represent the cue card.
I tore a part of the front panel and roll it to wrap my flower bouquet. I glued a pattern paper on the card base and on the wrap. The flowers are from Fresh cut Florals stamp set by Wplus9. Some were stamped on the panel and some flowers and greenery were stamped on a piece of white CS and fussy cut.
After I arranged the flowers, I added some Stickles on the center of them.
The sentiment from Paper Smooches was stamped in black and clear heat embossed.

I'm entering this card also into SimonSaysStamp Wednesday Challenge and SimonSaysStamp Work it Wednesday, where the theme is Flowers.

Birthday card with alcohol ink background

Hello! Are you having a restful weekend so far?

I was playing with alcohol inks again and this time I tried to make a partial background with them to make a one layer card.
I wanted to know if masking fluid works with alcohol inks on a glossy paper.
So I drew two lines using masking fluid, waited until it dried and applied alcohol inks. As I drew the lines by hand, the border isn't clean but it worked very well.  I used Sail boat blue, Indigo and Hazelnut to follow the color scheme from May Inspiration Challenge at Altenew blog.

After the background was completely dry, I rubbed the masking fluid off and stamped the flowers from Best Mom stamp set by Altenew using embossing ink and gold heat embossed it.  I then colored the flowers using yellow acrylic paint in several layers to make them opaque.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I stamped it with Staz On black ink.

Hydrangea

Hello, crafty friends!
Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Today I have two one layer cards to share with you.
I had some coloring time with the Mondo hydrangea from Essentials by Ellen.
I used Prismacolor pencils.

Here I colored the flowers on a white CS.
The sentiment was stamped using pigment inks and clear heat embossed.

For the second card I stamped the flowers on a kraft card base.
The sentiment was stamped in white and slightly shifted again in blue and purple.
I drew here a white outline around the flowers.
To finish off the cards I added some Crystal stickles on the flower centers.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Happy Birthday from a bunny

Hello and happy Friday!

Today I have one more cute card following yesterday to share with you :).
It is my take on the sketch from MFT sketch challenge #277.

I turned the three circles of the sketch into balloons and made a mini birthday shaker card with them.
To start off I made a cutting file for the front panel and cut it from a white CS with my Cricut, after I blended the sky using cloud masks. I then stamped a bunny from somebunny stamp set from MFT and colored her using Copic markers. I gave her a yellow bow matching her yellow dress. I glued a piece of acetate sheet on the back of the front panel. I then prepared the card base by stamping a border stamp from MFT in yellow on the left side and blending pink, yellow and blue DIs for the balloons. After I added the tiny heart glitters I assembled the shaker card together. The sentiment from the same stamp set was integrated in a string which I drew with a black pen.

I'm entering this card also at
Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes),
Time Out #55 (Celebrations with optional twist of die cutting)
I hope cutting with Cricut can be counted as the twist. :)

Lotus flowers

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I posted my last card. It was a busy week :).

Today I have a set of 4 cards to share with you, which I made using the Lotus stamp set from Waffle Flower. As I saw the Inspiration photo over at Waffle Flower Challenge blog, I thought the color palette could be a perfect one  for this stamp set. And I used  various coloring media here to compare them.

The lotus on the first card was colored with Copic markers. I added shadows in grey (Copic) and blended DIs for the background. The gold heat embossed sentiment is from the same stamp set. The frame is a negative die cut which was in my stash.

I used the watercolor lifting technique for the second card. First I white heat embossed the image and blended blue DIs. I then removed the colors from the image using clear water and colored them again with Zig brush pens and clear Wink of Stella. The bottom area of the petals and the back of the leaves which look grey here are the glittery part. I mounted the watercolor panel slightly tilted on a kraft card base and added some sequins. I really like the blue shades showing through the flower petals.

These lotus flowers on the third card were colored using Prismacolor pencils. I added some gold paint on the edges and gold splatters.

For the last card I stamped the images using Distress inks and colored them with Zig brush pens. I made the background by blending some DIs. I then cut the rectangle frame from a textured light blue CS with my Cricut and mounted it as shown in the picture after I cut the outline of the leaves and stems.

I want to link up the second card over at Waffle Flower Challenge April 2016 and the last card at SimonSaysStamp Work it Wednesday Challenge March 2016: PASTEL.

Birthday card with Frieda

Hello! Hope you are having a restful weekend so far!

Today I have a card with a cute mouse named Frieda to share with you.
This mouse image is one of the Freebies which Wiebke from Bunte Bastelecke created.
Wiebke and Birka from Tast for Two Tuesday Challenge ask us to use these Freebies for this week's challenge.  I follow these creative young ladies from Germany on Instagram and their fresh and cheerful creations always catch my eyes.

I printed the image in grey for the no line look. Frieda has a small flower in her hand but I gave her a big rose from SSS. I colored Frieda using Polychromos colored pencils and the rose using Copic markers and Polychromos.
I made the background by white heat embossing the roses and leaves from the Best Mom Ever stamp set by SSS on a water color paper and coloring them using DIs. I tied the sentiment on a grey shimmer CS using pink twine to give Frieda something to stand on. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

The Daily Marker 30day Coloring Challenge

Hello and welcome to my second post today:)

"One guy throws a block of butter out of the window. Because he wants to see a butter-fly." As my son heard this joke. He made up a new one- "One guy throws a clock out of the window. Because he wants to see the time fly!"  :)
The time flies and we are already in March 2016....

And Today is the final day of the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy.
I want to show you my Thank You card for the last day of the awesome coloring challenge and some coloring projects I made during the challenge.

This card features my drawing of a pink rose, colored using Prismacolor pencils. I cut the panel into a smaller rectangle than a A2 card base and along the outline of the flower image, rounded the corners and mounted it on the A2 card base using some foam tape, one side of which I covered with a glitter pattern paper. The sentiment was stamped using the Sophiscated Script stamp set from Concord & 9th in purple. I covered the rose and the sentiment with the clear Wink of Stella. To finish off I added some dots using silver Liquid pearls and clear sequins.

Here is close up of the rose.

Another photo shows the sparkle on the sentiment.

Now to some coloring projects:

This cute image is a Freebie from All Dressed up Challenge blog. I colored it with Copic markers and added some dots and lines using white gel pen.

This image is Bubble Girl stamp from Penny Black. I stamped it in light blue on a light blue CS, colored with Prismacolor pencils.

This cute elephant is Bella from Wildrose Studio, colored with Copic markers. I blended some DIs after masking for the background.

I hope I can make some cards with those images soon.
