Guest Designing at The Foiled Fox - No Line Pencil Coloring

Hello everyone!

Today I'm guest designing at The Foiled Fox blog again! For today's post I chose Vase Garden by Penny Black to do some no line pencil coloring on colored cardstock.

I started by stamping Vase Garden on a gray panel in white pigment ink. I then colored the image using Prismacolor colored pencils. I colored the poppies blue! I love blue poppies!!! I kept the image in soft spring colors. After done coloring I dry embossed the panel using a Double Stitched Circle die.

I trimmed the colored panel slightly down and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. The sentiment is from Grateful Heart by Penny Black. It originally reads "a thousand thanks". But I inked up partly to white heat emboss only "thanks" on some dark navy cardstock. I cut it in a banner and adhered it onto the card using foam adhesives. I finished off the card by adding some clear iridescent sequins.

Pencil coloring takes several hours but the result makes me always happy!

The Foiled Fox is a great one-stop shop for crafting, calligraphy and art projects. They have many art and paper craft supplies and tools. So please stop by their shop and look around!

Huge thanks to The Foiled Fox for having me as a guest today!
Thank you so much for looking!
Have a happy day!

Guest Designing at The Foiled Fox - Alcohol ink coloring Video

Hello everyone!!!

I'm guest designing today on The Foiled Fox blog! The sweet ladies from The Foiled Fox invited me again and  I had the pleasure to play with the new Penny Black stamps they generously sent to me!

The gorgeous image I used for today's card is called Melody Makers. The large blossom and sweet birds were calling for alcohol inks when I saw them for the first time :)!

To start off I heat embossed Melody Makers on a Alcohol ink cardstock from Ranger in gold. I then colored the image using Ranger Alcohol inks along with a Y06 Copic Refill.

I applied the ink directly from the bottle onto the image and tilted the panel to move the ink. For small area I used Micro brush. I once watched Jessica Frost-Ballas using it in one of her videos and started using it too. It is the perfect tool for this purpose!!!
The colors I used are:
  • Flowers: Shell Pink, Snow Cap
  • Leaves: Limeade
  • Birds: Y06, Sunshine Yellow, Valencia, Red Pepper/ Pool, Y06
  • Branch: Hazelnut
  • Background: Aqua, Limeade
I colored the beaks and legs using brown fine tip Sharpie pen and the eyes using black and white glaze pens.

The sentiment is from Grateful Heart by Penny Black. I stamped it in StazOn black ink on the panel.
I added some dots with gold and yellow Pico embellisher as stamen of the flowers.
To finish off I scattered some clear iridescent sequins.

Next picture shows the gold embossing better!

I've made a coloring process video. You can see the name of the colors used on the top left corner.
You can watch it in HD on my YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for looking! Hope you enjoyed my card and the video!
Huge Thanks to The Foiled Fox for having me as a guest today!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Guest Designing at The Foiled Fox #2

Hello everyone! Hope you had a good start into a new week!

This is my second guest designer post for The Foiled Fox blog! If you missed my first card, please click here. The Foiled Fox is a one stop shop for crafting, calligraphy and other art projects. The lovely ladies at Foiled Fox are theirselves crafters and know what we want and need :)!

Today I have a monochromatic card to share with you.

I started by stamping the Full of Glee in light gray on a gray cardstock. I arranged the flowers on the lower half of my panel along with masking when needed. I then colored the flowers using a white Prismacolor pencil. I focused on the outlines and fine lines on the petals. I colored the leaves using light cool gray pencils and added shades around the image in gray as well. To add some bling I covered the flowers with Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen. I can't explain but the clear glitter gave the flowers that subtle pink tone. This is something I should remember...  I die cut the colored panel using a stitched rectangle die and cut the wavy edge of the bottom part by hand. I added a thin strip of white card stock to the wavy edge and stamped the sentiment from Happy Wishes stamp set from Penny Black in Versafine black which I clear heat embossed. I blended Black Soot DI on my black card base and brushed Perfect Pearl Biscotti over it for more shine. I foam mounted the front panel on the black card base and added some clear sequins to finish the card.

Hope you liked my monochromatic take on a great friendship :)!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please head on over to The Foiled Fox blog for more inspiration!

Have a wonderful week!

Guest Designing at The Foiled Fox #1

Hello everyone!

Today I have a special post. The ladies from The Foiled Fox invited me to be a guest on their blog and of course I said yes :)! The Foiled Fox is a one stop shop for crafting, calligraphy and other art projects. I feel so honored to be a guest at The Foiled Fox blog today :)!

For today's card I played again with my alcohol inks!

To start off I made a alcohol ink background panel. I sprayed rubbing alcohol on a glossy cardstock first and added the alcohol inks by dripping and blew the colors through a straw. The colors I used are Flamingo, Shell Pink, Limeade, Citrus, Patina, Aqua and Snow Cap. I then gold heat embossed the Full of Glee image on it and colored the flowers using Holbein Artists Gouache. I cut out the bottom part of the panel in an angle. The sentiment is from Extra Special stamp set by Altenew. I stamped it in StazOn black on a strip of glossy cardstock on which I colored with Shell Pink. I adhered it under the bottom edge of the colored panel. I gold heat embossed the Wavy Lines background stamp on my dark gray card base and foam mounted the front panel onto it. To finish off I added some sequins.

That's it for today! Hope you liked my card!  Please don't forget to stop by The Foiled Fox blog for more inspirations!

Thank you so much for visiting my place today!
Have a wonderful week!

Emboss Resist

Hello and Happy Friday, everyone!!!

Today I want to share a card with you I made using The Ton's Palm tree and Wave set. The Palm Tree is a new layering stamp set which includes two palm trees in deferent sizes.

I've created a night scene using emboss resist technique and layered Wave, and added Palm trees in Rose Gold

To start off I blended Cali Blue on the bottom part of my A2 sized white panel and clear heat embossed the third layer of the Wave. I then blended Cobalt Breeze on that and clear heat embossed the second layer of the Wave. Then I blended the darkest colors, Deep Sapphire and Ocean teal and clear heat embossed the first layer stamp. After each blending I washed off the colors on the clear embossing using dry cloth. As I used the lightest color with third layer and the darkest with the first layer, the colors in my Wave image is reversed in their darkness.

I then blended Iris Blooms along with the darkest blues I used for Wave on the sky and splattered white watercolor on it, after I masked the wave off using a mask I made using Coordinating die.
The sentiment is from the Palm tree set. I white heat embossed it above the wave.
The front panel was trimmed down and foam mounted on a white card base.

The Palm tree image I have on my card is the second layer of the bigger tree in the set. I heat embossed it on some black cardstock in Rose Gold. The stem was drawn using an embossing pen.
I fussy cut two trees and mounted it onto the card, some part of the leaves using foam adhesives for some dimension.
To finish off I added too sequins from Glass Slippers sequins mix.

It was very interesting to see how the clear heat embossed layers of my wave looked after each blending! Hope I could inspire you with my card today to do some emboss resist technique :)!

I want to enter this card into a new-to-me challenge at The Foiled Fox. It is called simply Irresistible!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Enjoy the last day of the June :)!

TaeEun
