Monochromatic Floral Cards - The Ton

Hello all!!!
Today I'm on The Ton's blog with two floral cards! Yes, I'm taking a break from making Christmas cards :).

Both cards are in a monochromatic style. I used Fresh Cut Carnations and Large Florals: Carnation set from our Fall 2017 Release as the main flowers and placed them on watercolored background panel in the same color.

The Flower Challenge #15 - Anything but a Card

Hello everyone!

Today I have not a card but a Christmas shaker ornament to share with you.
The new theme for the month of December over at The Flower Challenge says

ANYTHING BUT A CARD !

Anything but a card ... hmm at first I could only think about a tag :). And I started to make one. But after I colored and cut the poinsettia cluster, a new idea popped in my mind. An ornament for our Christmas tree!!! 

As I said, I white heat embossed the poinsettia cluster from Holiday Love Poinsettia set by The Ton, watercolored it in soft aqua color and cut it using coordinating die. I then prepared the round shaker part. I cut a circle frame using Double stitched circle dies by The Ton from a white cardstock. I cut two more frames from a white and light blue fun foam as well to make the border for the shaker body. The background panel was cut from a light blue cardstock. I blended Bright Emerald dye ink on it in ombre look and white heat embossed some snowflakes from Crystal Flurries set from The Ton on the panel. To fill the shaker I used some shaker mix which a lovely blog friend Jenny once sent to me. That was perfect with some snowlakes and aqua sequins!!!

After I finished assembling the shaker part I adhered the poinsettia cluster on it and tied the string and an aqua ribbon. And as we have the Christmas tree standing, here is one more picture of the ornament in action :)!

The Ton December Challenge - Mood Board

Hello everyone! 

Hope your December started off well :)! 

Time flies by and we are in the last month of 2017 already... saying it every year :). 

A new challenge has started at The Ton Challenge blog! Effie has created a festive mood board to play with for you.

I wanted represent the aurora borealis in one of the pictures using alcohol inks. After four Yupo panels landed into my stash box, I've got this panel. 

To create the background I colored a Yupo panel in Amethyst, Eggplant, Patina and Limeade alcohol ink and added a bit of Pearl Turquoise metallic acryl. After the Yupo panel was dry I stamped the tree silhouettes from Mountains on the panel using alcohol based black ink.  I cut the front panel with the shaker window using my cutting machine. I cut it once from a panel which I made with white cardstock and Adhesive Glitter paper (glossy fine transparent) and again from some purple fun foam. Before assembling the shaker card together, I heat embossed the sentiment from Folk Art Christmas Tree set in Rose gold embossing powder on vellum and cut it in a curved strip. I glued the sentiment strip on Yupo panel and assembled the shaker card. I used flower sequins from Violet Sprinkle Couture Mix to fill the shaker. 

The ballerina from Holiday Ballet  was heat embossed in Rose gold, colored using Zig brush markers and cut with the coordinating die. I added crystal Stickles here and there for some sparkle on her. I adhered a strip of rose gold glitter tape onto the card front and mounted the ballerina.

Altenew November Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone!

It is the last day of November! I have a card for Altenew November Inspiration Challenge to share with you. Last minute, I know :).

I love the color combination Sveta has picked for this challenge. Maybe it is too late for an autumnal card. But I think it could make an elegant mix for all occasions.

I started off by heat embossing the long greenery from Floral Frame in Gold Pearl EP on dark brown cardstock. I then colored the leaves using Prismacolor pencils in yellow and orange. I sprinkled FineTec gold paint on it and cut it in the shape as shown in the picture using Double Stitched Rectangle die from The Ton.

The floral cluster is also from Floral Frame set. I first stamped it in embossing ink on a beige cardtock, colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I then heat embossed it in Gold Pearl EP with the help of MISTI and fussy cut it. To add some sparkly gold to the card I adhered gold glitter tape from Altenew's New Day Card Kit  on the kraft cardbase and foam mounted the brown panel on it. I picked the sentiment from Persian Motifs set. I white heat embossed the sentiment on the same dark brown cardstock as the front panel and matted it with a strip of white cardstock on which I added the gold glitter tape. I added the sentiment strip and the floral cluster onto the card. I finished off the card with a few sequins from Medallion Gold mix from The Ton.

CAS Christmas Cards - The Ton

Holiday Floral - EunJi's Digital Stamp

Hello, I have two cards to share with you today. They are featuring a new digital stamp EunJi has designed for November Release at her Etsy Shop: DotBStamp. It is called Holiday Floral.

For my first card I used the floral cluster image. I printed it in gray on mixed media paper and watercolored the image.

After done with watercoloring I added details and darker shades on the image using Polychromos colored pencils. The sentiment is from Happy Wishes by Penny Black which I stamped in black and clear heat embossed. I trimmed the panel down and foam mounted it on the kraft cardbase. To finish off I added some golden Sequins.

On my second card I created a floral cluster using solo flowers from the set.

I printed the flowers in gray on mixed media paper and watercolored them. I mixed some pearl watercolor powder to make them shimmer and colored the leaves in gold. I then fussy cut all the images. To give the cardbase some texture I die cut the Heart Breeze(SSS) from the front of the black cardbase and arranged the flowers on it along with some golden thread. I actually finished this card a few days ago. At that time I couldn't decide where to put the sentiment and thought maybe I could come up with an idea with the time. But still I have no idea where is the best place for a sentiment. So I'll leave it as it is :).

A Christmas Card for CTS 248

Hello everyone! Hope your week has started off well! 

I've managed to play with the sketch of CAS(E) this Sketch #248 during Thanksgiving break! I'm so glad I could do some crafting with two kids at home :). 

This is my take on Chrissy's fun sketch! 

I used Christmas Sweater background stamp by The Ton to create my purple and yellow panel. I stamped it in Grape Crush on white cardstock and heat embossed it using iridescent embossing powder to make it sparkle. I then blended Lemon Drop over the panel and cut it in the shape like the dark part of the sketch.  I added yellow panel on a white cardbase and foam mounted the purple-yellow panel on it. I adhered skinny strip of purple glitter tape on the right edge of the Christmas Sweater panel and added the sentiment strip out of vellum on which I silver heat embossed a sentiment from Holiday Mini Movie stamp set from The Ton.

The girl with the present boxes is from City Girls: Winter Edition stamp set also from The Ton. I stamped her in Caviar hybrid ink and colored her using Copic markers. I added some accents using glitter pens, cut the image with the coordinating die and foam mounted it onto the card.

The combination of purple and yellow has been on my to do list for a while. And I did it once on a previous card. I'm glad I tried it again :).
