Altenew Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom Release + Giveaway

Hello again, everyone!
Today I have one more special post. I had the honor and pleasure to play with the newest Build-A-Flower set by Altenew. This time the creative people at Altenew have designed Sakura Blossom aka cherry blossom and 3D dies. A bundle paired with Cherry Blossom and Green Field Mini Cube set is also available. The Build-A-Flower set includes 1 stamp set and 1 coordinating die set which are only sold as a set.

This Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom set features layered cherry blossoms and leaves and the accompanying die have score details to help you create 3D flowers.

I've made two cards. The first one is featuring the 3D sakura blossoms.

I started off by stamping the second and the third layer of both big and small flowers on Canson mixed media paper in light pinks from Cherry Blossom mini cube set. I then blended the colors out using a wet brush and added some opera pink watercolor on the center area before I cut them using 3D dies. The stamens were cut also from mixed media paper. I watercolored the center of the stamen in opera pink and added yellow dots on the stamen using Pico Embellisher. I set them all aside and started making the branch. I cut the shape of the branch with my cutting machine three times from a brown cardstock and stack them all together. I then gold heat embossed the branch and added bronze embossing powder only partially on it to give it some shade.

To create the small rectangle panel I dabbed white pearl acrylic paint on a white cardstock using crumpled cling wrap. Once it was dry I blended blue and green DI on it. The acrylic paint resists the ink blending and create some gorgeous marbling on the panel. I adhered a textured white cardstock on my cardbase and foam mounted the small rectangle panel. I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black and assembled the cherry blossom branch. I finished off the card by adding White Blizzard Nuvo drops on the flower center.

The second card is a one layer card.

To create this I started off by making masks for the flowers and leaves using the dies in the  Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom set. After I placed the masks as a floral cluster I blended light blue and light green DOX on the panel. I added some pink halo over the flowers using Worn Lipstick DOX and splattered clear water. I then colored the flowers and leaves with acrylic paint. I used plenty of the paints to create some texture on the image. Once it was dry I added shades below the image using C1 - C3 Copic markers and splattered soft pink pearl acrylic paint on the panel. The sentiment was gold heat embossed. To finish off I scattered some clear iridescent sequins.

I have five cards to share with you today! Lots to say and many pics:)! So let's get starated!

The first card is featuring Riotous Wildflowers and Bold Amazing Greeting Word Plate Dies.

I stamped Riotous Wildflowers on a Bristol smooth panel in a light ink and colored it using Arteza brush pens. I've been experimenting with various color combinations recently and here I tried purple and teal together. I added yellow on the flower centers and lightly on the background too. Once done with coloring I cut the sentiment using Bold Amazing Greeting Word Plate Dies from the colored panel and from some purple fun foam. I added thin teal glitter tape on the top and bottom of the cardbase and adheared the panel onto it. I then mounted the sentiment raised on top of the purple foam die cuts.

To add some shine I covered the die cut sentiment with shimmer Pico embellisher and scattered fine glitter on it before it dried. Some clear Dew Drops were my finishing touch.

Next is a card made with Coming Up Daisies and Buildable Woodgrain.

To create my own woodgrain pattern I stamped the elements of the Buildable Woodgrain set in Warm Hazelnut and Found Topaz. The daisies of  Coming Up Daisies were stamped in Caviar hybrid ink and colored using Copic markers. I coated the daisies with WOS clear glitter pen and added shine on the flower centers using clear glitter glaze pen and yellow glaze pen. I cut the right side of the panel along the outline of the image.
I stamped the sentiment from Large Florals: Daisy in Noir on the woodgrain panel and clear heat embossed it. I then glued the panel on the cardbase and foam mounted the floral panel on it.
To finish off I scattered some sequins from Pink Blossoms and Lilac Blossoms Couture Mix. These sparkling sequins are so pretty!

My third card for today is featuring  Large Florals: Daisy set. It is actually a layering stamp but I used the third layer as my guide and watercolored the gorgeous daisy flower.

To start off I stamped the third layer of the daisy in Soft Orchid and the second layer of the leaves in Soft Garden on a watercolor paper and watercolored the image. I added some golden dots on the flower center using gold Pico embellisher. The sentiment is from Peony Notes set, which is one of our gift with purchase items. Peony Notes bundle includes various sentiments in big scripty font and I love them! I trimmed down the panel and mounted it flat on a white cardbase. The finishing touch on this card were some sequins from Pink Blossoms and Glass Slippers

As we're in the midway of the winter this Winter Cardinal set could be a great addition to create some winter greeting cards.

This pretty cardinal is a design, Effie once hand carved. The delicate branch pattern in the cardinal image makes it so unique. To start off I stamped the bird in Lipstick Red and added some darker shade by dabbing Pink Derby on some area on the stamp using a finger dauber. I stamped the wing and tail partial stamp in Spiced Chai, the area between eye and beak in Noir.  I colored his legs using brown sharpie pen and the eye with a black glaze pen and a white gel pen. I then clear heat embossed the whole bird again. After I masked the cardinal I gold heat embossed the branch. I added watercolor wash on the background in payne's gray and gold. Once it was dry I stamped the sentiment from Winter Cardinal set in Noir and clear heat embossed it. I trimmed down the panel slightly and mounted it on a dark red cardbase on the border of which I adhered thin strip of Adhesive Foil Paper Gold. To finish off I added Medallion Gold sequins.

The last card for today is showing Riotous Wildflowers again, in red, navy and silver! I love this stamp. There is also coordinating dies for the floral clusters of this!!! How awesome is that!

I started by heat embossing the image in silver on a Bristol smooth panel. I then colored the flowers using Color Burst powders. I quite saturated the flowers with the pigments to have the intense colors.
For the silver leaves I used pearl colors by Fine Tec.

The sentiment is from Peony Notes. I stamped it in True Navy on a white cardstock and clear heat embossed it. As I didn't want to cover the beautiful florals I fussy cut the sentiment. To add some more interest I added a silver strip made using Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Silver and a thin navy strip underneath the sentiment. I finished off the card by adding some clear Dew Drops.

The Flower Challenge #16 - Spotlight Stamping Reminder

Hello everyone!!! Hope you are having a wonderful time in the first month of 2018!

It's already midway of January! And time for a reminder project at The Flower Challenge

We are having a challenge of Spotlight Stamping. And this is my reminder card using that technique.

I started by heat embossing the Peony Crush background stamp by The Ton on a Bristol Smooth paper in Liquid Platinum. I then cut the area I want to color using a Double Stitched Square die (The Ton) and colored it with Color Burst powders. I added some silver watercolor for the background.

I adhered the heat embossed panel on the cardbase, added a strip of teal glitter tape horizontally on the middle of the panel and foam mounted the colored square panel onto the card. the sentiment from Kaisercraft was gold heat embossed on some vellum, fussy cut and added on the card.

That was a quick one with a beautiful result imho :) !
Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration! Hope you play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Seize the Birthday - No Topping

Hello again!

I'm popping in to share a birthday card with you! The first challenge of the year at Seize the Birthday is now live. And we have no toppings option this time around! It's good for warming up, right :) ?

No Topping

My card is featuring Bouquet Rose Fussy Cut stamp set, one of EunJi's digital stamps.

I printed the image on a mixed media paper and colored it using Inktense colored pencils. I colored the darkest tone first and blended it out using a damp brush. After done with coloring I cut the panel, along the outline of the image on the right side and foam mounted it on the red cardbase. The sentiment from Summer Blooms set by The Ton was gold heat embossed on some vellum. I cut the vellum in a banner and glued it onto the card. To finish off I added a yellow rhinestone on the sentiment banner.

That's it from me! Hope you'll play along!

Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more inspiration from my team mates and our new surprise party guest Kristie Goulet! I'm sure you all already know her blog full of her gorgeous creations, Kreative Kristie!
