The Flower Challenge #19 - Shaped Cards

Hello everyone!!!

I'm popping in again to share two donut cards I made for the latest Flower Challenge!!!
Our theme for this month is SHAPED CARDS!!!

Did you see the announcement of our three new DT members on The Flower Challenge blog? We are all so excited to have Bobby,Ericka and Rachel in our team!!! Welcome everyone!!!

Now to my cards for today!
I've made two donut cards using Lavish Donuts and Unicorns set by The Ton.

I started by cutting the donuts using Lavish Donut Cardbase die. For the unicorn card I heat embossed the glaze using Iridescent Sparkle EP after I stamped the eyelashes in Noir. I stamped the border of the donut in Ballet Slippers. The ears were stamped in Hollywood Star. The horn was stamped in ombre using Cosmopolitan Pink, Grand Fuchsia and Iris Blooms and heat embossed with Iridescent Sparkle EP. I cut them using Lavish Unicorn Ears and Horn Dies and assembled the unicorn together.

The glaze of the floral donut was stamped in Ballet Slippers. I added Hollywood Star on the edge of the glaze to make it a little bit darker. The sprinkles was stamped three times in Hollywood Star, Iris Blooms and Bright Emerald. I clear heat embossed the glaze after done stamping all the sprinkles! The donut border was stamped in Vanilla Frosted Cupcake.

The floral clusters were stamped in Ballet SlippersHollywood StarCosmopolitan Pink and Grand Fuchsia (Flowers) and in Bright Emerald and Hot Tourmaline (leaves) and cut using Lavish Floral Cluster die. I added clear glitter on the flowers to add more sparkle!

The sentiment was stamped inside of the card in  Iris Blooms. I added some small hearts in soft pink using  Ballet Slippers.

These are so cute !!!

Hope you'll come up with an idea with our April theme!!!
Looking forward to seeing your projects in The Flower Challenge gallery!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!!
Have a wonderful day!

ALL NEW RELEASE ITEMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN THE SHOP!!!

All new release orders will begin to ship on Monday, April. 9th.

I've made three cards for today's reveal. The first one is showing one of the GWP items: Toned Squares and a beautiful peony from Peony Duo!

Using Toned Squares set you can create a beautiful graphic background in three different colors. One stamp covers about a half of a A2 panel, so you stamp it twice to make a A2 sized background panel.
I used True Navy and Lemon Drop and gold heat embossed the last part.

I gold heat embossed the bigger peony from Peony Duo and watercolored it in coral and yellow. I then fussy cut the peony and the leaves and arranged them on the card. The peony flower and some leaves were mounted with foam adhesives. The sentiment from the same stamp set was white heat embossed on a strip of dark navy cardstock. I added a strip with Adhesive gold foil paper underneath the sentiment strip and glued it onto the card. Some Medallion Gold sequins were my finishing touch!

Next card is featuring Coming Up Dahlias set.

I stamped Coming Up Dahlias on Canson watercolor paper in Caviar Hybrid ink. I watercolored the panel roughly in light blue, green and magenta with lots of water. After the panel was dry I started coloring the image using Copic markers. I used R81, 83, 85, RV000, 66 and 69 for the flowers and YG colors for the leaves.

After done coloring I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Perfect Fit sentiments set on it and cut a strip with the sentiment from the panel. I foam mounted the strip and adhered the other parts flat on the cardbase. I finished off the card by adding some sequins from Glass Slippers, Blue Ice and Pink Cosmo Twist Couture Mix.

The last card for today was made using Dahlia Bouquet and Wild Dahlias.

I white heat embossed the bouquet of the Dahlia Bouquet on a A2 sized Bristol smooth panel two times to fill the panel leaving a small area on the top free. I then applied coral, light green and light pink Nuvo Mousses on the panel using dry cloth.
I stamped the solid dahlias from  Wild Dahlias in Ballet Slippers, Hollywood Star, Cosmopolitan Pink and Peach Blossom. I stamped them in light color and applied the darker color onto the center of the stamp using a finger dauber and stamped them again. The leaves were stamped in Soft Garden. I then fussy cut them all. The background panel was cut with a Double Stitched Rectangle die and added to the cardbase. The fussy cut dahlias were arranged as shown in the picture. I finished off the card with some sequins from Glass Slippers, Pink Cosmo Twist, Guava Sparkle and Raspberry Sparkle Couture Mix.

ALL NEW RELEASE ITEMS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE SHOP TOMORROW!!!

All new release orders will begin to ship on Monday, April. 9th.

I've made three cards for today's reveal.
My first card is featuring Beautiful Bettas set.

I started by making the blue background panel using alcohol inks. I used Indigo, Turquoise, Aqua and added silver splatters on photo paper. I then stamped the fishes. The orange fishes are stamped in Beach Blondie, Peach Blossom and Coraline Hybrid ink. For the pink fish I used Rose Quartz instead of Beach Blondie. The seaweeds were silver heat embossed. I fussy cut them all and set them aside.  (Of course you can use coordinating dies)

I cut a white panel in two pieces with curvy cut lines and foam mounted them onto the cardbase on which I adhered the blue alcohol ink panel. I then added the fishes and seaweeds, some on foam adhesives and some flat. To finish off I added some Clear and Seaglass Blue Dew Drops.

I kept the second card in a clean look.

I stamped the biggest flower from Large Dahlia1 on some Bristol smooth paper in Rose Quartz and the leaves from Large Dahlia sets in Soft Garden. I then colored the image with Zig brush markers. For the flower I used Purple and the leaves were colored using three green shades and Olive Green.

I dry embossed the panel using a Double Stitched Rectangle die to give it some more interest and mounted it onto the cardbase. The sentiment in Noir is from Perfect Fit sentiments set and the gold heat embossed hello is from The Most Interesting Cardmaker set. My finishing touch was some sequins from Pink Bokeh Couture Mix.

My last card for today is showing one of the standalone dies: Pop Up Peony dies.
*As the dies were not delivered when I made this card, I used cutting files and my cutting machine to cut the petals. The dies will be available when orders ship out!*

I started off by making the front panel. I white heat embossed the bold sentiment from Seriously Amazing sentiments set on some mixed media paper and added loosely watercolors in purple, aqua, magenta and blue on it. After the panel was dry I cut it using Double Stitched Rectangle die and glued it flat on a hot pink cardbase.

I then made the background for the inside. I added watercolor wash in magenta and aqua on some mixed media paper panel, splattered the same colors and opaque white ink on it and let it dry, before I adhered it on the inside of my card.
Pop Up Peony petals and leaves were cut from some vellum. I colored them using Tombow brush markers. I used light pink for the base layer and made it darker towards the center. The leaves were colored in light blue to match to the background. I colored the stamen in yellow and started assembling the Pop Up Peony. It was quite easy to make this pretty 3D peony to pop up. And as I used thin vellum the folded card wasn't that thick.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Hibiscus Release + Giveaway

Hello and welcome!!!

Today I have a special post to introduce you the newest Build-A-Flower stamp set: HIBISCUS by Altenew! I'm so honored being invited to BAF: Hibiscus release this month!

Build-A-Flower: Hibiscus set includes 1 stamp set (24 images) and 1 coordinating die set (3 dies).

Hibiscus are native to warm climates and are associated with tropical weather and relaxing summer days. Hibiscus flowers have symbolized many things throughout history, but are now most commonly known to represent "delicate beauty." This set comprises of a 6 layer hibiscus flower in full bloom, a 6 layer hibiscus bud with stem, and a 4 layer leaf image. Three sentiments are also included. These floral images work well on cards, layouts, home decor, gift wrapping, and more. We can't wait to see where these beautiful tropical flowers take your imagination!

The hibiscus stamped in 6 layers is so gorgeous with deep shade and highlights!  I went outside my comfort zone this time and did layered stamping without additional coloring!

To stamp the yellow hibiscus I used all 4 yellow shades from Pocketful of Sunshine, Sunkissed from Warm and Cozy and Rocky Shore from Coffee Break mini cube set. For the leaves I used Tropical Forest mini cube inks. After done with stamping and die cutting, I created the background panel with a loose watercolor wash in yellow and green using Gansai Tambi watercolor. I foam mounted the background panel on a white cardbase and arranged the hibiscuses onto it. I raised some flowers with foam adhesives. The sentiment was white heat embossed on a strip of yellow cardstock. I finished off the card by adding some clear sequins and orange dots on stamen using Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Drops.

My second card is in red, which is the most familiar color of the hibiscuses for me :).

The red hibiscuses were created using all 4 red shades of Red Cosmos, Espresso from Coffee Break and Industrial Diamond of Rock Collection mini cube set. The leaves in cold gray were stamped using Rock collection. I stamped one more hibiscus directly on my red panel. The base layer was stamped in white pigment ink, I then stamped the further layers in reds from Red Cosmos on the white base layer. The stamen was stamped in white as well. The leaves were stamped in the same way like the flower. I silver heat embossed Thank You onto the red panel and white heat embossed the thin sentiment underneath. The red panel was foam mounted on a white cardbase. I then arranged the hibiscuses as shown in the picture. I added yellow sparkly stamen using yellow Stickles. After many thoughts I decided to go without any additional embellishment.
