Altenew did it again!!! They released new Watercolor Brush Markers! As the first set they chose 10 bright color palette, and it's called Spring Garden set.

Create stunning works of art with our Watercolor Brush Markers! The barrel is filled with water-based color, and coordinates with our line of inks. The flexible, yet sturdy bristles on the brush tip allow you to form both broad and fine strokes. Color can be applied straight from the marker, or diluted with water for a softer look.

The colors are really vibrant and you can work with the fine and flexible bristles very easily!
I have created two cards using the new Watercolor Brush Markers

On the first card I colored the floral cluster image from Starry Flowers set in yellow and orange using Warm Sunshine and Autumn Blaze Brush markers.

I stamped the image on some watercolor paper two times in black pigment ink. After the stamped image was dry I colored the flowers loose and roughly. I added the same colors and Moss to the background and splattered them around the flowers too.

The sentiment is from Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom set. I stamped it in Jet Black ink and again in some embossing ink to clear heat emboss it. I added clear glitter Nuvo drops onto the flower centers to finish off the card.

While coloring the Cattleya orchid flowers on the next card I focused more on the details.

I stamped the Build-A-Flower: Cattleya in Morning Frost mini ink on some watercolor paper for no-line coloring. I used Midnight Violet, Rubellite, Warm Sunshine and Autumn Blaze to color the flowers, and Emerald and Moss for the stem.

I colored the outer edge of the petals and the folds of the petals directly using Watercolor Brush Markers and blended the colors out towards the flower center using a watercolor brush. After done coloring I cut it using the coordinating die.

To create the background I white heat embossed the BAF: Cattleya on a watercolor paper panel. I added lots of water onto the panel before I applied Rubellite, Midnight Violet, Sea Breeze and Limeade on it. After the panel was dry I stamped the sentiment from BAF: Camellia in Midnight Violet.  I assembled the card together by foam mounting the colored and cut Cattleya onto the background panel.

Altenew September 2018 Washi Tape Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to Altenew September 2018 Washi Tape Release Blog Hop!!!

If you're coming from Enza Gudor's blog you are right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the hop, please hop over to Altenew Card Blog

Altenew released 18 new washi tapes today! They are even more gorgeous than the previous ones!!!
I'm so honored and excited to be a stop on this special blog hop with so many amazing papercrafters together!!!

I have seven cards to share with you today which I've made using five new washi tape designs! It'll be a long and photo-heavy post, so without further ado lets get started!

First two cards are showcasing Glitter Flurries, a beautiful floral design with golden accents.

To make the first card I added the 4.5 inch wide Glitter Flurries on a soft pink cardbase in A2 size. As I wanted to add the Leafy Wreath and a floral cluster from Glitter Flurries washi tape on the base, I added a piece of vellum on it, to tone down the background. The sentiment from Circled Sentiments set was gold heat embossed on that vellum panel.

The Leafy Wreath was cut from a golden cardstock from New Day Card Kit and one more time from some white cardstock. The white wreath was glued directly onto the vellum and the golden one was foam mounted slightly offset. The floral cluster from Glitter Flurries washi tape was fussy cut and then added on the wreath.

On the second card I used the  Glitter Flurries as my background again.

This time I used a white panel to add the Glitter Flurries on it and cut it slightly narrower than A2 size. On the sides of the white cardbase I added thin strips of Gilded Ombre, an ombre purple washi tape with golden elements. Glitter Flurries and Gilded Ombre are in the same purple tone, so you can coordinate them very well together.

The hello was cut using a coordinating die for Blooming Bouquet, three times from some purple cardstock and once from a gold cardstock from New Day Card Kit. I adhered a piece of torn vellum onto the front panel, foam mounted it on the cardbase, added gold glitter tape also from New Day Card Kit and glued the stacked die cut sentiment on it.

The next card is featuring Gilded Ombre. This is a 2.95" wide, beautiful purple ombre washi tape.

I adhered the Gilded Ombre on some white cardstock and cut a side using Creative Edges: Notebook die. To extend the purple part of the card I added  Gilded Ombre on the left edge of the white cardbase and foam mounted the extra panel onto it as shown in the picture.

The Build a Flower Anemone was gold heat embossed on some watercolor paper and colored using Watercolor 36 Pan set. I cut the colored image using coordinating dies and arranged them on the card. The sentiment is also from Build a Flower Anemone. I stamped it in Midnight Violet directly on the cardbase.

And this is my fourth card :).

To start off I made a A2 sized purple panel using Gilded Ombre.  The floral cluster was created using Glitter Flurries washi tape. I adhered it on a white cardstock and fussy cut the images.

I added a purple strip with a gold heat embossed sentiment from Magnolias for Her and some gold splatters to finish off the card.

For my next card I used Red Ombre washi tape.

Red Ombre washi tape is 2.3 inch wide. I adhered it repeatedly on some white cardstock and cut it using Rose Flurries 3D dies. The leaves were cut from white cardstock and sponged with cool gray mini inks from Rock Collection.

I added black woodgrain panel on a black cardbase and splattered silver watercolor on it. After the splatters were dry I arranged the flowers and leaves as shown in the picture.

The sentiment is from Sketchy Floral stamp set. I heat embossed it using Altenew's Pure White Crisp EP on a strip of black cardstock and added it onto the card.

This card is showing the beautiful Watercolor Nebula washi tape.

Watercolor Nebula is with almost 7 inch, the widest one from this collection. I chose a part I liked and adhered it on some white cardstock. I cut the panel using Dotted Scales Debossing Cover die and gold heat embossed two feathers from Happy Dreams stamp set on it. I then splattered some gold ink on it and let it dry. The sentiment is also from Happy Dreams stamp set. I gold heat embossed it on some white cardstock and fussy cut it.

Now I assembled the card together by adding the panel on a black cardbase and foam mounting the sentiment. To finish off I added some gold flatback pearls.

My last card for today is featuring Pastel Strokes washi tape.

I stared by stamping a floral cluster from Dearest Friend stamp set on a A2 sized white panel in Jet Black ink. I clear heat embossed the image to make it pop. I then stamped the same image on a white panel again and cut it in the same width like the Pastel Strokes washi tape (2.3 inch).

I colored the smaller panel using Altenew Artist Markers
I then adhered Pastel Strokes washi tape on the panel and cut it following the outlines of the stamped image. I used a kraft knife to cut, of course with a very light hand.

I heat embossed the sentiment from Amazing You stamp set on the A2 sized panel and adhered it flat on the cardbase. The colored panel was then foam mounted onto the card.

That's it from my side! Altenew's washi tapes are very versatile and you can make some easy and quick cards using them, as some of them are wide enough to cover the whole A2 sized panel!!!
