The Ton Washi Tape Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to The Ton Washi Tape Release Blog Hop!

If you've arrived here from amazing Laurel Beard's blog, you are right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the blog hop, please visit The Ton's blog

The Ton is celebrating their first washi tape release with two new washi tapes! There are some free gifts with purchase promotions ongoing. Head over to The Ton Stamps' blog for more details.

Effie is our stamp designer and an awesome watercolor artist as well. She has designed two washi tapes based on her own floral watercoloring. The washi tape with elegant pink peonies and rose gold accents is called Pink Peonies and the other one with more cheerful design and colors is called Wildflowers

I've created two cards each of which is featuring one washi tape.

The first card is showcasing the Pink Peonies washi tape.

This washi tape is so beautiful. I wanted to show it as it is on the whole panel. The  Pink Peonies washi tape is 4.5 inch wide, so you can cover a A2 panel completely with it. I added floral images as focal point of the card.

To emphasize the watercolored look I chose the floral images from Watercolor Wreath stamp set. I kept the color combination of the Pink Peonies washi tape by heat embossing the images in Rose Gold,  colored the flowers in Fuchsia, Peony and Wisteria Color Burst powders and the leaves in Payne's gray watercolor. After done with coloring I cut the images using coordinating dies  and set them aside.

I adhered the Pink Peonies washi tape on a white A2 panel, cut off the excess and added it on a white cardbase. The white frame was cut using Double Stitched Rectangle dies. I glued a vellum panel behind the frame after I heat embossed the sentiment from Watercolor Bouquet set in Rose Gold

I adhered the frame on the card and arranged the floral elements using some foam adhesives as shown in the picture. I finished off the card by scattering some Glass Slippers sequins.

On my second card which is featuring Wildflowers washi tape I used the florals from the washi tape as my main image.

I started off by adhering the Wildflowers washi tape on a white cardstock and fussy cutting the floral clusters. The main image is the biggest floral cluster from the washi tape. I cut out solo flowers to add them on the main cluster image for some dimension and fussy cut smaller elements too.

The colors for the background were chosen regarding the colors of the main floral cluster. I blended Soft Garnet, Lemon Drop and Iris Blooms on a white A2 panel and let it dry. I then clear heat embossed Modern Plaid background stamp on it and blended the same colors again. I splattered white opaque ink and gold ink on the background panel and let it dry.

I then started assembling the card. The background panel was adhered on a white cardbase and the cut out floral clusters were arranged as shown in the picture. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Penned Sentiment set on a strip of black cardstock and added it onto the card. My finishing touch for this card was some clear Dew drops

That's it from my side. Hope you enjoyed looking my cards :)!

The Flower Challenge #30 - Anything Goes

Hello crafty friends!

Today a new challenge has started at The Flower Challenge blog! For the month of March we have a ANYTHING GOES challenge! YAY!!! But please don't forget to use your Florals as always and as the MAIN feature on your card!

I enjoyed The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by amazing Kathy Racoosin in February. I couldn't participate everyday but tried to color something as often as I could.
Today's cards are results of my trial to draw and color something during The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge .

As I was searching for some pretty floral images to use as references, beautiful floral hats caught my eye and I decided to sketch a few of them. So I sketched some hats digitally and printed them on Neenah solar white cardstock. If you follow me on Instagram, maybe you have seen these hats there :).

I colored this hat with a wide brim in black and white. I thought the floral image on this hat must be bold red! First I colored the image using Copic markers and then added more details and shading using Polychromos colored pecils. I highlighted the petals with a white gel pen and fussy cut the hat.

The background image is Folk Art Florals background stamp by The Ton. I white heat embossed it on a watercolor paper panel and colored it loosely using red and yellow Color Burst powders. After the panel was dry I cut it with a Double Stitched Rectangle die and adhered it on a white cardbase.

The hat was foam mounted onto the background panel. The sentiment from Magnificent Magnolias set was white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and added on the card using some foam adhesives. To finish off the card I added clear glitter on the floral cluster on the hat using a clear glitter pen and adhered a few red rhinestones.

The second hat was integrated into a scene.

I colored this hat using Copic markers first and then with Polychromos colored pencils. After the hat was done I started drawing the scene using Copic markers. It turned out okay, even if it's not in a 3D look as I wanted :) .  I splattered opaque white ink on the panel and let it dry.

I cut the panel using a Double Stitched Rectangle die and foam mounted it on a white cardbase.
I used the same sentiment like the first one, white heat embossed on some gray cardstock. Some clear, yellow and light blue sequins were my finishing touch.

Thank you so much for looking my cards!
Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration from my lovely team mates.
Hope to see your projects in our gallery!

I want to enter my first card into Time Out Challenge #130 with the theme UNIQUE.  I think it is unique as I sketched the hat by myself !

Have a great day!

TaeEun

Seize the Birthday #160 - Make Us Laugh

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today is again the Seize the Birthday Thursday! It's already the last challenge of the month of February!!!

My team mate Lindsey has chosen a fun Toppings option for us this time. And it is

MAKE US LAUGH

I could find only this stamp set from my stash, that I think is kinda funny :)! Its Purrr-thday set by Art Impressions which includes front- and backside of these funny cats. And I've made a peek-a-boo card following the instruction of Jennifer McGuire's video tutorial

I started by stamping both images on some white cardstock in Caviar hybrid ink by The Ton, which is copic friendly. I then colored the cats using Copic markers. I used cool gray(C), warm gray(W) and E colors. I drew the fensterframe and blended Broken China DI on a corner for sky. I splattered clear water onto the sky and dabbed it off.

I then cut three panels as Jennifer described in her video. I used a bigger square die to make the fenster, as I had bigger images. Please refer to Jennifer McGuire's video tutorial  for how to assemble this peek-a-boo card :)! It's so hard to describe in words.

I dry embossed several circles on the front panel using a small Double Stitched Circle die and stamped the sentiment from the same set in Lemon Drop, Cali Blue, Soft Garden, Soft Garnet and Noir inside the circles. In the inside of the card I stamped some fishes from Catitude stamp set by MFT in Cali Blue and Crystal Pewter.

Here my daughter helped me to show you how the peek-a-boo card looks like in action :)!

Hope I could make you laugh with my card today!

Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more laugh and inspiration from my team mates and our surprising party guest  Julie Beech!

The Flower Challenge #29 - Use Your Latest Stamps or Dies - Reminder

Hello and happy Friday everyone!

Today I have a floral card to share with you. It's time for a reminder post for the current Flower Challenge: Use Your Latest Stamps or Dies.

I used again one of the Anniversary Release items of The Ton, Smiling Cosmos

I'm enjoying The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin. I love to participate in this challenge, especially because it gives me a great opportunity to try something new. So this card has started with an experimental coloring in white on black paper.

I stamped the lady from Born Classy stamp set by The Ton in Hampton white pigment ink and colored her in a white Prismacolor pencil. I found a lot of gorgeous sketches of dresses in white on dark paper on Pinterest and was inspired by them.

I stamped the cosmos cluster from Smiling Cosmos set in an embossing ink on the lower part of the panel and white heat embossed it. I colored the floral image using Stardust gel pens. To make the color brighter I filled the image with white Prismacolor pencil before I went with the glitter gel pens.

I added some dots using a white gel pen on the dress and between the flowers and also using a clear glitter gel pen on the dress and on the hair to add more shine. The little rose in her hand is also from Born Classy stamp set.

I splattered white opaque ink on the upper area of the panel and let it dry.

The die cut sentiment was cut using Sweetheart Word Plate Die (The Ton), which is also new to me. I cut it from the colored panel and also from some pink fun foam to raise the sentiment. I cut the front panel using a Double Stitched Rectangle die , glued it on a pink cardbase and added the die cut sentiment. The "YOU ARE" from Basic Labels set was white heat embossed on some black cardstock and foam mounted onto the card. I finished off the card by adding some Glass Slippers Round Confetti

The stardust gel pens work very well on black paper and the base coloring using a white pencil makes a huge difference!

Please hop over to The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration from my talented team mates!
And don't forget to link up your creations made using new floral goodies in our gallery :)!

Have a happy weekend!

Altenew February 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to Altenew February 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop!!!
How was the hop so far?  I'm sure you've got lots of inspiration on the way to here :)! If you arrived here from  Lilith Eeckels' s blog, you're right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the hop please head on over to the Altenew Card Blog!

As always Altenew is introducing beautiful and unique stamp and die sets along with the mask stencils. I'm so excited to be part of this awesome blog hop to celebrate the Altenew February 2019 Release.

I've created three couples of cards which are showcasing three stamp sets.

First two cards are featuring Exotic Tulips set.

To start off I've stamped the layered tulips and leaves on some white cardstock. For the yellow tulip I used Maple Yellow, Sunkissed and Orange Creme, for the pink one I used the Rose Petal mini inks and for the leaves Tropical Forest mini inks. I've stamped several leaves and two tulip flowers for each color and cut them using coordinating dies

I also stamped two stems and some leaves on a white cardstock panel and added soft background color using Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Spring Garden Set. I cut the panel in a circle and set it aside. To give some texture to the background I white heat embossed the Baroque Motifs stamp on another white panel in Pure White Crisp embossing powder.

I then started assembling the card. I adhered the background panel on a white cardbase and foam mounted the circle panel offset on it. I cut off the part which stuck out. I then arranged the tulip flowers and leaves on the circle panel using some foam adhesive. The flowers were added twice for more dimension and interest.

The sentiment is from Reason to Smile stamp set, a sentiment set from this release. I white heat embossed the sentiment on two strips of light gray cardstock and adhered them on the leaves. I finished off the card by adding three enamel dots from New Day Card Kit.

The tulips on the second card were colored using Altenew Artist Markers

I stamped the tulip flowers, stems and leaves on a Neenah solar white panel. I stamped the flowers in Rose Quartz and the stems and leaves in Bamboo. I used the Mask Stencil to mask the image when needed.

I then started coloring the image. I used R301, 206, 304 and 318 from Artist Markers set A and C for the two of the flowers. Two other flowers were colored using R400, 403, 304, 206 and 217 also from Artist Markers set A and C. I added subtle yellow tone on all the flowers using C001 from the set B.
The leaves and stems were colored the green colors from Artist Markers set E.

After coloring was done I colored the background using Limeade, Moss and Warm Sunshine from Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Spring Garden Set and added gray shade around the image using the cool gray markers from Artist Markers set E

The sentiment is from Dotted Blooms set. I stamped it directly on the colored panel in some black pigment ink. I narrowed down the panel a bit and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. some clear sequins were my finishing touch.

Next couple of cards are showcasing Dotted Blooms stamp set.

To start off I white heat embossed the patterns from Baroque Mitifs stamp set on a Bristol smooth paper panel. I then masked off a rectangle on the upper right corner and added payne's gray and gold watercolor on it. The size of the rectangle was decided after the golden frame I cut using Fine Frames Cover die from the gold cardstock of New Day Card Kit.

Next I gold heat embossed the outline image from Dotted Blooms set on some watercolor paper, colored the flowers in pink watercolor and cut it using the coordinating die

I then assembled my card. The white background panel with the colored rectangle was adhered flat on a white cardbase and the golden frame was foam mounted on the rectangle. I foam mounted the branch onto the card and added some golden sequins to finish off. The sentiment from Dotted Blooms set was stamped in Jet Black ink.

For the next card I colored the floral branch using Prismacolor colored pencils.

I chose a gray cardstock for my coloring. I stamped the image two times on a gray cardstock in a white pigment ink and colored them using Prismacolor colored pencils. I blended the colors using white pencil or a very light tone of pink and it worked great on the gray paper. After the coloring was done I cut them using the coordinating die.

I then prepared the cardbase. I stamped the image two times in white pigment ink on the gray cardbase as shown in the picture.  I used the mask stencil to mask the previously stamped image.  To add more white onto the card I decided to go with a white partial panel.

I cut a white panel using the coordinating die of the Dotted Blooms set two times like I wanted to place the colored images. I then inlayed the image into the negative die cut panel and foam mounted it together on the prepared gray cardbase. The sentiment from Dotted Blooms stamp set was stamped in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed. To finish off the card I added three pink flatback pearls.

Next up is a couple of cards featuring Baroque Motifs set.

Here I wanted to use the mask stencil as a stencil. So I gold heat embossed the biggest image from the Baroque Motifs set on a white cardstock and colored the image partially in yellow and pink. After that I cut it using the coordinating die and applied clear glitter paste on it using the mask stencil

While the glitter paste was drying I prepared the gray background panel. I stamped a background pattern using various stamps from the Baroque Motifs set. I used an embossing ink to heat emboss the images in clear iridescent embossing powder. I then cut the biggest pattern using the coordinating die to inlay the paste embossed piece.

I adhered the background panel inclusive the inlayed shape on the white card base. To add more sparkle and a smaller focal point I added small die cut florals along with the sentiment. The little flowers were cut using Layered Floral Elements die from some glitter paper. I white heat embossed the sentiment from Reason to Smile set on a strip of gray cardstock, matted it with a strip of black cardstock and foam mounted it onto the card.

For my next card which is featuring the gorgeous image of the Baroque Motifs set, I've created a vibrant background using Altenew Artist Marker refills.

I started by applying R705, C002, Y205 and WG01 from Artist Marker refills set B on a glossy cardstock. I blew the inks with a straw and added rubbing alcohol on the panel to blend the colors. Even before the panel was completely dry I placed a gold foil on the panel and pressed it to the panel with a brayer to add golden accents.

The biggest image of the Baroque Motifs stamp set was gold heat embossed on some white cardstock on which I ink blended using Citrus Burst, Honey Drizzle, Sun Kissed and Orange Creme to create an yellow orange ombre color. The image was cut using the coordinating die.

I narrowed down the background panel a bit, foam mounted it on a white cardbase and added the gold heat embossed image on it using some foam adhesives. The sentiment was cut using the hello die fron Blooming Bouquet set from a gold cardstock of New Day Card Kit.

That's it from me today! I'm so glad you're staying with me until the end of this long post :)! Hope you loved looking my cards!
