Altenew 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 4 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Day4!

If you arrived here from Anna Komenda's blog, you're right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the blog hop, please head on over to Altenew Card Blog!

Huge Congratulations to Altenew! Thank you so much for being so awesome !!! It's so exciting to be part of this amazing blog hop, celebrating Altenew's 5th Anniversary with so many talented fellow crafters whom I admire!!!

I love Altenew's monthly Build-A-Flower series. I was so lucky to be invited to introduce Altenew's very first BAF-Camellia and since then I'm in love with this monthly beauty.

For today I chose my favorite Build-A-Flower stamp sets and colored the florals using colored pencils in botanical art style. So I focused more on coloring than the background or embellishment.

My first card is featuring Build-A-Flower: Cattleya set.

I stamped the cattleya image on Toned Gray paper in a pigment white ink. I then colored the gorgeous orchid flowers using Luminance colored pencils. I've been wanting these pencils for so long and recently I finally could get them. They are great to use on colored papers thanks to the opaque covering.

I searched for some colors of cattleya orchid flowers on Pinterest and chose the coral-light blue-light green combination for my flowers. To make the image pop, I added dark background in payne's gray and prussian blue. I also ink blended the diagonal corners of the panel in white pigment ink to add more contrast. I then let the panel dry.

After the white pigment ink was completely dry, I white heat embossed the sentiment from One Day at a Time stamp set from March release on the colored panel using Pure White Crisp embossing powder.  I cut the panel and foam mounted it on a dark gray cardbase.

My next card is showcasing the Build-A-Flower: Anemone .

I stamped two anemone flowers on a Bristol Smooth paper in Pink Diamond and the leaves in Bamboo. I colored one flower in pink and the other in purple using Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils, drew the stems of the flowers and colored the leaves.

I chose an easy way to color the stamen. I stamped the stamen stamp from the set in Maple Yellow and added a little bit of darker yellow shades using colored pencils. After the coloring was done, I gold heat embossed the sentiment from the same set on the panel.

My first plan was to add the panel on the cardbase as it is, but I changed my mind and ink blended Bamboo and Parrot on the bottom edge of the panel. I left this card also without any embellishment like the first one.

That's it from my side for today! Hope you liked looking my cards.

The Flower Challenge #31 - Sketch

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far!

Today I have my DT card for The Flower Challenge to share with you. This month we're having a Sketch challenge.

It has been so long since I played with a sketch last time. It was fun to do some brain work with a sketch :). Vivien created a pretty sketch and I've made a CAS card with it.

I started off by white heat embossing the cute roses and leaves from Rennie Roses set by Altenew.  I colored them using Color Burst powders in yellow and purple, cut them using coordinating dies and set them aside.

To represent the two rectangle elements of the sketch I cut two pieces of rectangle using Distressed Edges dies by Spellbinders. I first ink blended some white cardstock in Mustard Seed and Twisted Citron DI before I die cut the rectangles.

I chose a gray cardbase for my card and splattered white opaque ink on it. I adhered the long rectangle piece flat on the cardbase after I stamped the sentiment from PaperSmooches in black on it. I then foam mounted the small rectangle piece and the roses. I finished off the card with some purple and yellow rhinestones.

I hope I could inspire you with my card to play along! I'd love to see your projects in our Gallery!!!

Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration projects by my amazing team mates!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
TaeEun

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet Release Blog Hop!

I'm so excited to be a part of this blog hop to celebrate the new Build A Flower Release. This month's flower is sweet violet! If you arrived here from Altenew Scrapbook Blog, you are right on track. If you want to start from the beginning of the blog hop, please head on over to the Altenew Card Blog!

It's again a great addition to floral stamps from Altenew. The Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet set includes two layering violet flower images and one leaf image. The coordinating dies are also included in the set.  I especially love the delicate veins of the flower petals!!! The relatively big images are great to color using any coloring medium! There is also a bundle combined with inks. If you want to subscribe the Build-A-Flower stamps at a discounted price, please click here.

I've created three cards to introduce you the new Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet set.

On the first card I gold heat embossed a bunch of sweet violet and colored them using Artist Marker Refills.

I used glossy cardstock to heat emboss the images in gold. I drew the stems using a embossing pen and gold heat embossed them as well. I then applied the Artist Marker Refills and filled the image using a micro applicator. The violet flowers were colored using the purple colors of the Artist Marker Refill Set B and the leaves were colored in Warm Sunshine and Forest Glades Artist Marker Refill.
The gold splatters were added using gold Mixative.

I adhered Gilded Ombre washi tape on the left side of a white cardbase to go with the purple flower. I tore one side of the colored panel off and foam mounted it on the cardbase.
The sentiment is also from Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet set. I gold heat embossed it on a circle panel and added it onto the card along with some golden twine.

On the second card I tried to represent some white violet flowers with a hint of purple.

I started off by gold heat embossing the flowers and leaves. I stamped the second layer of the flowers in Morning Frost and the veins in Soft Lilac. The flower center was stamped in Maple Yellow and Honey Drizzle. I then ink blended Midnight Violet on the tip of the petals.  I stamped the second layer of the leaves in Misty Mint. I cut all the images using the included coordinating dies.

To add contrast to the white flowers I've created a bold and vibrant background. I applied all four colors of the purple shades of Artist Marker Refill Set B on a Yupo panel, added rubbing alcohol to blend the colors and blew the colors using the Marker Spritzer. I added also gold Mixative to the purple shades for some shine. I pressed purple foil on the background panel using a brayer, before the panel wasn't completely dry, to add more shine.

The thin gold frames are from the die cut made using Fine Frames cover die. I gold heat embossed two thin white frames and adhered them on the background panel which was foam mounted on a white cardbase. I arranged the die cut florals on the card, added the vellum strip with the gold heat embossed sentiment and scattered some golden sequins.

For the next card I watercolored the Build-A-Flower: Sweet Violet.

I stamped the violet flowers and leaves in Pink Diamond and Misty Mint respectively on a Bristol smooth paper panel while masking previously stamped images if needed. I colored the images using Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers. After coloring was done I stamped the veins on the flowers in Pinkalicious and Deep Iris

I added more details and shade on the watercolored images using Polychromos colored pencils. After coloring was completed I cut the image along the upper outline.
I stamped the sentiment in a black pigment ink on the white cardbase and clear heat embossed it. I then ink blended Caribbean Sky on it and foam mounted the colored image. Some droplets of the Morning Dew Nuvo drops were my finishing touch.

That's it from my side! Hope you enjoyed looking my cards :)!
