Merry and Joy - Penny Black

Hello everyone! Today I have four holiday cards to share with you. They all are made using the new holiday stamp and die sets from Merry and Joy Release by Penny Black.

It'll be a photo heavy post. So grab something to drink before you start 😄!

My first card is a spinner card. I used the Ornate (30-610) stamp set and Ornate Cut Out (51-575) to make the spinning bauble.

I started off by preparing a navy cardbase. I gold heat embossed a branch from All Wrapped Up (30-607) stamp set on the front of the navy cardbase several times so that I get the all over patterned look. I ink blended Faded Jeans and Black Soot Distress ink on the perimeter of the front and cut it using Snowflake Frame die (51-565). I took off the central rectangle and gold heat embossed the thin frame.

I chose one bauble from the Ornate (30-610) stamp set and gold heat embossed it two times on some navy cardstock. I colored them using Prismacolor colored pencils and cut them with the  Ornate Cut Out (51-575).

Then I started assembling the card. I cut a extra navy panel with the small snowflake frame die from  Snowflake Frame die (51-565) set and adhered it on the back of the front side of the cardbase. I put a thin string between them and glued the two colored baubles to the string. The sentiment from Merry Up (30-622) set was stamped in navy on a white banner. I matted it with a bigger banner which I heat embossed in gold. I'll add one more sheet of navy cardstock in the inside so that it turns into a tri-fold card and I can write something :).

My next card is showcasing a beautiful cling stamp called Poinsettia Poem (40-700). I made a one layer card, as I wanted to focus on the image.

To start off I stamped the Poinsettia Poem (40-700) in a light gray ink on Bristol Vellum paper and added the background colors by "smooshing". I used Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feather, Broken China and Wilted Violet distress ink. I applied pink and purple inks first on a acetate sheet, sprayed lots of water and pressed it on the paper. I dried the panel and added teal and blue inks in the same way. The light gray image helped me while adding the colors in the background, so that I have more pink on the flowers and blue-teal color on the leaves.

After the panel was completely dry I stamped the Poinsettia Poem (40-700) again in Memento black ink and colored it using Copic markers. I used R83, 85, 37 and 89 for the magenta poinsettias and R32, 35, 37 and 39 for the red one. The holy leaves were colored in BG colors. To add some texture on the panel I dry embossed it using a Stitched Loops die (51-573).

The sentiment is from Thrill of Hope (30-616) stamp set. I gold heat embossed it directly on the colored panel and mounted the panel flat on a cream cardbase. To give the card some shine and sparkle I added white Pico Embellisher on the berries and Crystal Stickles on the center of the poinsettias.

For the next card I used the gorgeous Scarlet Season die set (51-559). I chose a modern version from the design ideas I had in my mind 😊! This card is practically one layer and showing transparent poinsettias.

Scarlet Season die set (51-559) includes poinsettias in two different sizes. Each poinsettia has one base layer and one detail layer. I used the detail layer dies. First I cut the large poinsettia from an A2 sized Bristol smooth paper panel. Next I cut two small poinsettias on both sides of the large one.

I took the detail die cuts out and ink blended them in Ripe Persimmon and Abandoned Coral distress ink. I adhered a piece of clear acetate on the back of the panel and inlaid the die cuts by adhering them on the acetate. I die cut the center pieces from some gold foil cardstock and adhered it on the poinsettias.

The sentiment is from Merry Builder (30-619) set. I gold heat embossed "MERRY" and stamped the rest of the sentiment in black. I cut a white cardstock in A2 size and adhered it on the back of the front panel to finish off the card.

The last card for today is a holiday card in pretty pink! This is featuring the beautiful Winter Garden (40-711) cling stamp set.

I gold heat embossed Winter Garden (40-711) image on a Canson watercolor paper and watercolored it. After coloring was completed, I fussy cut the image.

I ink blended Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry distress ink on a white cardbase on the area where the image would be placed so that the pink blending peeks from behind of the image. I splattered clear water on it and dabbed it off with a paper towel.

The colored image was then foam mounted off the edge on the left side of the cardbase. The sentiment from Merry Up (30-622) set was white heat embossed on a strip of cardstock on which I ink blended the pink distress inks in an ombre fashion. To finish off the card I added Shimmer Pico Embellisher on the berries and three pink rhinestones to the card.

That's it! Thank you so much for staying with me through the long post. I hope I could inspire you with my cards today!

Seize the Birthday #176 - For Kids

Hello everyone!

Today I have a birthday card to share with you all! A new challenge has started at Seize the Birthday today. The new Toppings option for the next fortnight was chosen by my team mates Lindsey and it is ....
FOR KIDS

As always you may enter any birthday themed projects into our gallery if you don't want to take the Toppings option! I needed a birthday card for a little girl, so it was a great Toppings option for me :)!

For my DT card I used A Present (30-573) stamp and A Present Cut Out (51-544) by Penny Black.

I stamped the cute bear and the huge gift in Antique Linen DI on Bristol Smooth paper. I did some no line coloring using Zig brush markers and die cut the image. I added the white dots on the pink ribbon and on the eyes and the nose of the bear to add highlights.

The background was ink blended directly on the square cardbase in blue DIs. I splattered white opaque ink. After the background was dry I foam mounted a front window panel on it which was cut using one of the Stitched Circles dies (51-551). I then added the bear and gift image on it.

The dies for the sentiment is included in A Present Cut Out (51-544) I cut it from an ink blended cardstock in purple and blue DIs, and from some white cardstock, stacked them together and adhered on the card.

It was an easy and relatively quick made card.
I'm happy with the result :) ! Hope you like it too and play along with us!

Pinkfresh Studio October 2019 Challenge

Hello and Happy Sunday, everyone!

The Pinkfresh Studio October Challenge starts today. Below is the challenge graphic which you can use as your reference.  The theme of this month is Circle Elements !

I chose both the color scheme and the theme and made a holiday card 😊 !

I picked a patterned paper from Home For the Holidays 6x6 paper pack and cut it with the Essentials: Pretty Frames die. I ink blended a thin frame from the cuts in teal green and adhered it and the dotted frame flat on a white cardbase. The outer frame and the center rectangle were foam mounted.

I cut three circles in different sizes from heavyweight Solar white cardstock. I ink blended them in blue, mustard and pink in an ombre fashion, which I chose from the challenge graphic. I then added the die cut circle elements using Braided Circles die set to the circle pieces.

The gift, the holly berry and the car with stacked gifts are from the Globe Elements of Home for the Holidays collection. I adhered the circles on the card and added the cute holiday elements on the circles using foam adhesives.

The sentiment was cut using Classic Holiday Words die set from some gold foil paper. To finish off the card I covered the holiday elements with clear glitter.

One more holiday card is done :)! ✅

The Flower Challenge #37 - CAS

Hello and happy Friday, everyone!!!

It's time for a new challenge at The Flower Challenge! The theme for October is CAS: clean and simple!

We have a PRIZE to give away again this month. The amazing Michele from
CAS-ual Fridays stamps has generously agreed to give our lucky winner this month a
prize of $25. All the Design Team have used CAS-ual Fridays stamps also on their cards. Michele very kindly gave us all some of her stamps to use on our cards ;)

I've chosen Mon Ami stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays for my CAS card.

I stamped the flower and two leaves in light yellow ink on Bristol smooth paper panel and colored the images using Prismacolor colored pencils. After coloring was completed, I stamped the images again in an embossing ink and heat embossed them in gold. I also gold heat embossed the stem with the integrated sentiment.

I then cut off the left part of the flower image using a kraft knife and foam mounted the panel on a yellow cardbase. To keep my card clean I didn't add any embellishment.

I love how this card turned out. And it was a very quick and easy one!

Before you go creating some clean and simple floral cards, please stop by The Flower Challenge blog for more inspiration from our Guest Designer Tina Magnusson and my team mates!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Cute Holiday Cards - Penny Black

Hi everyone!

I can't believe it's already October!!! Cool wind and the colorful leaves are out there and it's definitely Autumn. As a card maker I would say it's time for making those holiday cards :) !!!

Penny Black has recently released gorgeous holiday stamp and die sets, called Merry and Joy!
I had the pleasure to play with the new items and made three holiday cards using some of the cuties from this release.

The first card is featuring Bauble Balance (30-621) with the cute elf.

I wanted this card to be in purple and blue. So I stamped the elf balancing three huge baubles in Memento black ink and colored it with B and V Copic markers. I colored the baubles in C Copics and covered it with glitter using a silver Wink of Stella pen. I cut the image with my ScanNCut and set it aside.

To create the background I did some watercolor wash on a corner of a watercolor paper panel using Orchid and Cerulean Blue Color Burst. I splattered clear water and dabbed them off with a paper towel. I also added splatters of white opaque ink on it.

After the panel was dry I heat embossed a branch from All Wrapped Up (30-607) stamp set two times on the watercolor wash in silver. To add more texture in the background I also die cut the snowflakes using the dies included in Snowflake Frame die set (51-565). They cut the pattern of a snowflake in lines.

I stamped the sentiment from Bauble Balance (30-621) set on the bottom of the background panel and foam mounted the cute elf on it as shown in the picture. I colored the tiny berries of the branches in silver and the leaves in a white gel pen and the card was finished!

The next card is showing Beaming (30-623) set. Another cute image of the elf.

I started off by stamping the elf on a Bristol Smooth paper panel in a black pigment ink to color it using Zig brush markers. I added fluorescent yellow around the light bulbs for a lightning effect.

After done with coloring I ink blended around the elf in Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet and Black Soot Distress inks. On a Bristol Smooth paper it is so easy to blend the Distress inks.
I added splatters of clear water and white opaque ink to the background and let it dry.

The front panel was cut using the Snowflake Frame die (51-565) from some white heavyweight cardstock. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from the Beaming (30-623) set on the bottom of the panel.

I adhered the panel with the elf on a white cardbase and foam mounted the front panel on it.

The last one is made using Team Work stamp set (30-612). One of my favorite stamp sets from this release. It is so cute!!!

I wanted to do no-line coloring on this adorable image. I stamped the bear and penguin in light gray ink and the tree part in Antique Linen Distress ink on a Bristol Smooth paper panel. I had such a relaxing time coloring this! I used Zig brush markers here again.

I added a little bit of purple along with gray to color the bear and I really like how it turned out. I also covered the whole bear with clear glitter using a Wink of Stella pen. After the coloring was completed, I ink blended the background in the same colors which I used for the previous card.

I covered the image with a piece of scrap paper and added lots of white splatters to the background. It could have been an one layer card, if I stopped there, but I went further and made a frame out of the panel.

I used the largest die from Stitched Loops die set (51-573) to cut the panel. This die cut the loop pattern outside of the cut line so that I've got a frame with the pattern. I mounted the main part flat on a white cardbase and foam mounted the frame on it.
The sentiment from Team Work stamp set was white heat embossed directly on the colored panel. I added some white highlights here and there to finish off the card.

That's it for today! I hope I could showcase the cute stamp sets from Merry and Joy release well!

Thank you so much for taking time to read my post!
Wishing you all a happy and crafty day!

TaeEun
